getting desparate, how could the group be getting desparate. We have a bigger event than the last two years planned on a zero budget. What exactly is desparate about passing the word around?
If you mean by inviting others that we grew up with? Well thats courteous and kind and welcomed by everyone who has lifelong friends they want to see whether they attended MHS or Pennsbury or decided to go to Egan or Conwell after elementary.
1st year 175 attended 2nd year 275+ attended 3rd year we have live bands and did I mention with zero budget. I hardly think thats desparate
If you've lived here a long time but have lied and been inept, a real detriment to progress and productivity, should you be immune from criticism? How many years is the threshold? I may have crossed it.
No good deed goes unpunished. She wasn't lying or mucking around in political dirt. She was trying to raise awareness about the school reunion. People dumped on it. She misspelled a word in a blog, which is informal by nature. Now she's ignorant? This is where debates with SOT-SOC tend to go. Into their sweet spot, the toilet. No satisfying resolution possible.
Call me Wanda's secret admirer. Wanda is energetic, capable and persisent. She can defend herself, and it makes sense, not like arguing with the irrational who can never be pinned down. She's also very forgiving to those who do her wrong. Unlike some 'round these parts, she doesn't have bitterness and hatred that she takes out on others.
Morrisville police consultant resigns after two weeks on the job By George Mattar Staff writer | Posted: Friday, August 16, 2013 3:43 pm Morrisville's police department consultant has called it quits. Frederick Devesa was hired to oversee the borough police department until a chief can be found. He started his job July 30 and will resign, effective Monday, said council vice president Victor Cicero, himself a former Morrisville police chief. "It's a shame," Cicero said Friday. "He was very qualified and probably over-qualified for the job, but he told me he wasn't getting the cooperation he needed to do the job. He certainly got cooperation from borough Manager Tom Bates and council." The Courier Times was unsuccessful in reaching Bates or Devesa for comment. A source said Devesa wasn't getting cooperation from certain individuals, but didn't identify them. Cicero said Devesa was hired for roughly three to four months to oversee the department, which is hurting for manpower due to retirements, one hospitalized employee and resignations by others -- mostly part-timers. "There is a lot of finger-pointing going on, but the truth is, problems in the police department were not addressed by past administrations. We are committed to rectifying this and will continue our search for a permanent chief," Cicero said. The borough's insurance company had directed municipal officials to investigate the police department because of lawsuits that department personnel have filed against each other. The department employs nine full-time officers and four part-timers. "The administration is the bedrock of any police department and if you get bad behavior, that leads to bad performance. We need a remedy soon," Cicero said. "He did not get the cooperation that was necessary. He told me he does not want his reputation tarnished. I'm very disappointed, but I understand his point of view." Devesa, who lives in Newtown Township, was one of 14 applicants for the temporary job. Earlier last month, Morrisville hired CityBurbs Group, a consulting firm run by Lower Makefield Police Chief Ken Coluzzi. At the time, Bates told the Courier Times, "This hiring is good for the borough. Hopefully, this will bring stability to the police department." Cicero said he's sure Devesa's resignation will come up at Monday's council meeting. Devesa's salary hasn't been released, but the advertisement for the position indicated a pay rate of $5,000 to $7,000 a month. As for the police chief position, applications will be accepted until Aug. 30. The salary range is $85,000 to $90,000, based on experience.
Call the state police and have them take over the department. Suspend every officer until the investigation is over and reinstate the ones who are doing the job.
Then fire every single boro council member and the mayor. Immediately. Start fresh. I was voting for Rivella but now he's just another lackey perpetuating the hurt.
I hate government, the less government the better. Freedom and Local Control is King. Mind Your Own Business. Oh, hey state, governed by a like minded Right Winger, come on in and take things over for us, we suck so bad we can't handle it here. We s*** our own bed. Help us Tommy C.
Let SOC be the new Police force they did a great job on the school board. Free clothing and company cars and a water cooler for Maryls. Captain Hellman has a nice ring to it.
I noticed Hellman was never shy about helping himself to beverages from the school district mini fridge. Marlys wants taxpayer provided chilled water served to her at meetings. When they do it, it's Okay. It's not only Okay, it's an expected entitlement.
Win on your own merits, not by making it up as you go along, not by talking crap about somebody who has been working for the community for years. I met the Rivella family when our kids were both in baseball and they have more than proven themselves as positive community members over the years.
Don't like the guy? fine, that's your option. My guess is you don't even know him. I'm sure that won't stop you from blaming him
It just sounds stupid that we read an article about the police dept and you put Rivella's name on it.
The Police Dept is in shambles. Cicero was a chief for close to 20 years, retires, then goes to Boro council. Unfortunately, he probably had more power over the PD as a council person then as chief. How, then, can he scratch his head now and wonder what's wrong? He hired the reject from Middletown that's causing all the problems. Look at the job description for the new chief position. "must be willing to work with council" With bozos Rivella, Sherlock, and Cicero, and Bates, I'm surprised Local 269 hasn't painted their cars blue and slapped Morrisville Police on them.
Cicero watched this dept crumble for the past 20 years and has the gall to be surprised.... Along with his cronies on council who have done nothing but cater to the IBEW.
Scorecard please! Cicero and Rivella are cronies!?I thought they were feuding????? Why do they keep bring up IBEW? How has the IBEW been catered to? Or is this another SOTSOC (ha, sounds almost like SadSack) concoction????
They're angry & jealous of anyone or anything that helps someone other than them to get elected. It's a helluva lot easier to whine about that than improve your own attitude and message, or weed out embarrassing lowgrade candidates and incumbents.

I cant believe the crap we put up with from our town officials. Thirty years of mismanagement is way too much. Take Back Morrisville.
you should have run for offic to take it back.
They don't tell you any of this in the real estate brochures.
Bad schools, dysfunctional government, bad cops...what's next?
How about an All years Reunion....

Looks like the reunion group is getting desperate
getting?!?!?
Looks like you've gotten nasty and petty. What do you want? It's a small district.
Better to reach out than reach in, or reach around. (wink wink)

desparate? I don't know that word. Is it like the new maths?
Can we get back to bashing the supposed leadership of our esteemed borough?
Or maybe trashing our corrupt and ineffective police department?
How about simply insulting some long time locals?
This is a blog, not a spelling and grammar bee.

From the Credit where Credit is due Dept.
The School Board is doing a good job. Thank you!
Get rid of Ron Stout on Tues. November 5 and it'll be even better.
Vote Dann Dingle instead.
OUT WITH STOUT.
IN WITH DINGLE. Give him a full 4 years to continue the great job he's been doing over the last 1 year.
Yeah, sure, this is political, but the choice is obvious to anyone who has seen them both in action, (or inaction, in Ron's case).
"This is a blog, not a spelling and grammar bee."
Making excuses for ignorance sounds suspiciously like an SOT-SOC tactic.

You spelled persistent wrong, you ignorant SOB. :-)
Come to Ron Stout's meet and Greet. I will be held at Maryls residence, ADDRESS UNKNOWN. Free bottled water will be provided.
LOL! I'll be ,,, there? Stay thirsty, my friends.
"Come to Ron Stout's meet and Greet. I will be held at Maryls residence"
Why would he be held against his will at her place? Or is it something more...personal?
Spelling error on Ron Stout post I should be it. I am sorry for such a stupid mistake. Thanks for catching it.
Does anybody know when the next QSRE meeting is?
Basement of the Library, right?
Yes, let the butthurt flow!
I thought we got rid of library in school?
We kinda did. This is referring to the Boro Library where QSRE held (holds?) its meetings.
There's no basement at the Alamo.
Fallout from the Hellmaniac SOC_SOT budget/revenue crunch. I doubt very much most current board members wanted to ax library.
Morrisville police consultant resigns after two weeks on the job

Morrisville's police department consultant has called it quits.
He certainly got cooperation from borough Manager Tom Bates and council."

I'm shocked.

Dysfunctional much?
When will this race to the bottom at boro hall end?
Where are the level heads, the compromisers?

Call your butt and have monkeys fly out of it. The odds are about the same.

That's about the same odds of Morrisville cleaning up its own act.
Things will be different in a Westrope administration.
Let SOC be the new Police force they did a great job on the school board. Free clothing and company cars and a water cooler for Maryls. Captain Hellman has a nice ring to it.
If you can't make your case without lies and dishonesty you really don't have one.
You may believe your own BS but that doesn't make it true.
People in so called leadership positions who do this have dragged this town down more than anyone or anything else.
I noticed Hellman was never shy about helping himself to beverages from the school district mini fridge. Marlys wants taxpayer provided chilled water served to her at meetings. When they do it, it's Okay. It's not only Okay, it's an expected entitlement.
Interesting that you singled out Rivella. You pretty much gave away your agenda.
What agenda is that other than to see Kitty "Katt" Westhrope as Mayor????

Kitty sits with Jane Burger at every council meeting...know everything I need to know.
Did you ever think Kitty, is a plant, a spy, unbeknownst to Jane B working mystical psych-ops on her to manipulate her?
No, but that's funny and intriguing.

Mrs. B for Chief!
All I know about the IBEW is that their members clean the canal every spring which I am thankful for.

So much construction and wiring is happening in Morrisville that the IBEW must be making a killing! Not.
