A date which will live in infamy?

We have nothing to fear, but fear itself!

God Bless all those who lost loved ones in Pearl Harbor and those who continue to fight.

Winter Concert coming up 12/15, parent asked for it to be added to front of Mv.org for everyone to see. (I saw it on there today, looks good)

7-8 grade dance may be planned for valentines week, details/approvals/date to come.

7-8th grade academic advisory teams working well , teachers work well together and are helping all students stay on track.

Discussed possibility of Band attending thanksgiving day games going forward whether away or home and barnes and nobles night with Jazz band to play longer so everyone gets to hear them play and a better dress code for the bands when not playiing in uniform.

Winterfest succesful, hoping for more next year and use of gym to set up tables will be planned earlier, no practices will take place on that Friday to give organizers ample time and space to set up. Hoping Board and teachers etc will participate in parade next year.

Discussed absentee notices making it into school in time, truancy/discipline letters are auto generated, make sure you get to Dave May to have things fixed if needed so childs record is adjusted appropriately.

thats all I can think of

Band:
I would use caution in restricting their clothing too much because the kids are volunteering to be in band. If they are made to wear something like slacks instead of jeans, for example, they may not want to participate.

I really never noticed that anyone in the band dresses poorly when not in their uniforms. The kids used to buy a standard t-shirt with the band logo on the front from the school district to wear when performing but not in their uniforms. It looked clean and they were comfortable. (just an idea)

the information provided was brought up at the superintendent meeting by parents during discussions on many topics. This was a quick recap of the meeting, nothing is decided there, just an open forum for any topic with quesions and answers and things to look into. Please go to the January super meeting and check it out, its a great place for the parents to get info and share ideas and thoughts openly.

Dr. Scott does a great job with the students that he has available. His program is growing again and he should be included in discussions regarding dress codes, playing at away football games, and longer performances. School programs, sports and performing arts, need student involvement and parental support not management.
The School Board, Administration, and Parents need to encourage kids to be in activities and stay in them. Too many kids in this school are not involved. Don't let activities be cut because of under enrollment and we don't need new activities unless there is an overwhelming interest.
If you want to change the culture of the school and the town get involved. Don't live in the past, give this school and town a future, get involved.
Help your children with their homework, help them become better students, get them involved in school activities, get them to practices, and encourage other parents to do the same.
We have a great little town and school but we all can do better.
