Dave Rivella is making the switch from Morrisville councilman to mayor.
Come January, he’ll replace Mayor Rita Ledger, who didn’t run for re-election.
The Democratic candidate beat Republican Sandra Kitty Westrope and Bill Pepitone, who ran a write-in campaign without being associated with a political party.
The newspaper was unsuccessful in reaching Rivella for comment late Tuesday night.
In the council races, Democratic incumbent Fred Kerner won the Third Ward seat against Republican candidate Justin Bowers.
As for the school board, there will be some changes.
Dan Dingle, who was appointed to the board in July 2012, won election to the seat. He beat veteran school board director Ronald Stout.
Dingle, who chairs the district’s finance committee, said he’ll continue his agenda of eliminating wasteful spending and focusing on the education of Morrisville children.
Jon Perry, Ivan Colon and Joe Gilleo also won election to the school board.
“Although I’ve sat in many (school board) meetings throughout the years, I feel like I have a lot to learn,” Perry said.

HDPD (How did Pepitone do)?

Yesterday at the polls he lied to someone about being a republican. ugh.

Pepitone got 510 write in votes. More than Westrope who was on the ballot. There is a message there. Please do not dismiss it. Do not chalk it all up to politics. Listen and fix the police situation. Get clear answers and communicate them. Clearly. Lots of people finally perked up and started paying attention. Get on your toes.

It is unfortunate that deceptive measures have been rewarded with 510 votes. I agree, there is a message there. It's equally unfortunate that so many were not involved before this. Hopefully things like research, knowledge about Morrisville, learning how local government works, Morrisville's longtime and recent history, and the actual laws that govern us (not just who people wish things to be) will come out of all of this and take shape in the form of positive things for Morrisville rather than new opportunities to bash each other by those who woke up late and and have left the house without brushing their hair.

Stout got ripped off!!!***

*** On Monday 11/4, taped OUT WITH STOUT signs got ripped off a telephone pole on Bridge St. near Bill Hellmann CPA's office near Lafayette Ave.

Finally the public got it. Stout is a shameful member of the board and is now OUT

Pepitone did it right. He had the people at the polls flacking for him. He had the pens all ready with the correct spelling of the name and he had the outlines to lead voters through the write in process. He was deceptive in hos campaigning but he also did the work to get there. The real lesson is that voters can be led. Westrope did not have the support of the regular Republicans and they went with their bench.

He's still a bully. Morrisville should buy Peps a house in Trenton and let him have fun with the bros and hos.

Come on! Not necessary.

Was anybody else surprised Pordash won for Tax Collector?

Name recognition = automatic votes.

wow, I am truly amazed that Pordash won and more amazed at the reaction to the 510 votes for Pepitone.
Those 510 votes should be scary to the establishment in Morrisville. Burger is no longer an influence in Morrisville and Rivella benefitted from people to lazy to vote by write in.
over 900 votes against Rivella. It says a lot when you win the office with less than 50% of the vote.

Pep supporters, you gonna take it from Mike Honcho when he calls you lazy?

Yep I'm sure you're right Mike. If Rivella's campaign was based on inaccurate, misguided information and lies it would have been much easier for him to garnish votes. It is the easier way to go, but it's not the right way.

only a moron would think i said Pepitone write ins were lazy. I was referring to the votes for Westrope.
But I understand that David Kronagel is not able to get facts straight.

I didn’t say Pepitone “write ins”, I said Pepitone “supporters”. Big difference. I’m not talking about the people who did the write in for Pepitone. I’m talking about the people who may have supported Pepitone, but didn’t follow through with the write in. That’s exactly who I still believe you were calling lazy. You opine that these people voted for Westrope instead, because she was conveniently on the ballot. Maybe, maybe not. You have no way of knowing the statistics on this.

You’re trying to walk it back, Honcho, but it’s not working. Your dishonesty is showing.

Here’s exactly what you said.

“Burger is no longer an influence in Morrisville and Rivella benefitted from people to (sic) lazy to vote by write in.”

Who the hell is David Kronagel?
