Mr Administrator can we get a new Potluck please

Anonymous said...

But the BCCT told me my taxes were going up now. Where do I go to express my outrage?

Anonymous said...

It was discussed at the last council meeting.

Anonymous said...

Obviously you can express your outrage on the borough website. There is a contact page. You can also email the borough on your own, or call there to talk to someone about your discomfort at the idea of an increased monetary support of your community.

Anonymous said...

Someone's sarcasm meter appears to need calibration.

Anonymous said...

I recommend not paying anything and serially filing frivolous lawsuits of paranoid gibberish.

Anonymous said...

Take a good look at your tax bills. The big one you get is for the schools. That is the school board, and if you don't like how they are spending your tax dollars - go to them.

The smaller tax bill you get - half of that money goes to the Borough, and the other half goes to the County.

To the angry people - tell us your price tag to the borough (remember, not the larger school tax bill, and half the smaller one). Is it $400? $600? $800?

Tell us honestly, is that the money where you are getting ripped off, embezzled from, and is mismanaged? Why does your rage lie there?

And someone please tell me the union jobs that have been handed out since "union thugs" took over. And don't forget long time m'villians - your families gave you the decent life you had growing up because they were part of the "union thugs" - steel mill workers and the jobs that spun off it. Why are you so bitter now?

Anonymous said...

Consider also things like the police department, health care and insurance. They are all necessities that increase each year as is the cost of fuel & other maintenance utilities and borough employee salaries.

Anonymous said...

When talking about unions, one of my personal favorites would have to be Mr. Farrell who comes to public comment at the borough meetings complaining about unions while he is benefiting from his union retirement.

When some ignorant person talks about "unions" in a bad light in Morrisville to suite their own needs I am always reminded that the borough workers are AFSME workers and the police belong to the FOP, both unions. Do they even realize they are also bashing a large percentage of the town in their attempt at whining over Dave Rivella.

Morrisville settles with former mayor; battle continues

Posted: Wednesday, January 15, 2014 10:14 pm | Updated: 7:15 am, Thu Jan 16, 2014.

By GEMA MARIA DUARTE Staff writer

Morrisville has settled a civil lawsuit filed by former Mayor Rita Ledger. But the legal battle might not be over.

Two weeks after Ledger and the borough agreed to a settlement of $20,000, Ledger submitted a letter claiming that under borough code, as mayor she is entitled to legal counsel and the borough should pick up the bill.

She said that the borough code “authorizes the mayor to obtain outside legal counsel to perform necessary legal services as pertains to a legal dispute between the mayor and council,” reads the letter dated Dec. 30.

Ledger’s lawyer Martha Sperling did not have a comment Wednesday about the settlement. Additionally, she was unaware of Ledger’s Dec. 30 letter to Morrisville, she said.

The borough and Ledger settled Dec. 14, according to the settlement document signed by Ledger.

The borough’s new solicitor had not reviewed Ledger’s Dec. 30 letter.

Ledger’s legal action started when she filed the lawsuit in May in Bucks County Court against some members of the borough administration, council and police department.

She claimed that they wouldn’t give her access to borough records or the police department office and paperwork. She claimed sex discrimination and sought more than $100,000 in damages.

In the fall, the court ruled in Ledger’s favor. The court gave Ledger, the first borough female mayor, the right to obtain police department and borough records without having to submit a right-to-know request and pay 25 cents per page, as the public is required to do.

In addition, the order gave her access to the police department office and authority to sit in on borough council executive sessions and obtain copies of lawsuits and police schedules.

I would like to know how much of the $20 grand will go to her attorney. I hope all of it. At least that way she isn't getting any money out of her scam on the community.

Anonymous said...

Anybody know the reasons why she didn't run for reelection as mayor?

Anonymous said...

She remembered it's more lucrative to file BS lawsuits?

Anonymous said...

There's so much politics and misinformation I don't know who to believe. Stay on Crack is generally a bunch of dolts, but you've got to be professional and above board to not give the dolts an opening where they would win a BS lawsuit. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Anonymous said...

Is this blog dead via abandonment? Me thinks that must be the plan,.

Anonymous said...

The former mayor didn't "win". The borough settled the suit. Big difference.

Anonymous said...

Neither party admits to doing anything right.

Anonymous said...

I sincerely hope Peppy's letter is sincere. Somehow it comes across as patronizing, but I think that may be tainted by the election rhetoric. Peppy, if you are sincere, and you can contribute in a meaningful way without increasing friction, it could go a long way toward undoing any negative perceptions generated by the way things went during the election race. Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

Peppy's letter? What letter?

Anonymous said...

Haven't seen it. Pepitone knowingly started a war of sorts in Morrisville with his campaign of lies and accusations. It showed who he is. He may have changed his approach, but he has not changed.

Anonymous said...

In today's BCCT he has an Op-Ed letter. It's very much about cooperation.

Anonymous said...

Until we start trying to find ways to work together, the acrimonious nature of politics and civic activity in this town will continue.

You can be part of the problem, or part of the solution, choice is yours.

Chemistry joke: If you're not part of the solution....You're the precipitate.

Maybe Peppy did some bad things, and maybe he didn't handle the election in a manner of which you approve, but there are few people that are really evil, and maybe just maybe he isn't one of them. I hope to see that he puts his money where his mouth is, and tries to work with everyone to make the town better. Hopefully he learned that alienating a large percentage of people is not a good way to go. This is a lesson we can all stand to learn.

Anonymous said...

I agree in working together. I don't just talk about it I put my actions behind it.

I read Pepitone's article. I didn't take it as an olive branch at all, just more of the same.

Pepitone has no idea what Rivella's political views are because he chose to bash Dave every chance he got about lie about him continually without even having a conversation with him.

I can see how some may think this is a new page for Pepitone. After all it wasn't you he campaigned against the way he did. It wasn't you Pepitone lied about. You weren't the target of his character assassination.

He could have contacted Rivella and talked with him about any part of this article, but chose to do submit an article publicly because he's grandstanding - again.

Anonymous said...

I trust this man no more than I would Jane Burger, Bill Hellmann or Rita Ledger.

Anonymous said...

Rita gets her own circle of Hell for what she's done. I think Hellman and Burger, for all their misguided policies, decisions and actions, didn't seek to benefit personally from their positions (Well, except for the power they so obviously sought.)

Peppy seems to be cut from a different cloth, but he definitely shares the bully approach to problem solving. Must be some cop mentality. I don't think he'd be as bad as Hellman, (Outright Narcissist) nor as sneaky manipulative a Burgermeister. He would be a bull in a china shop though. Maybe it would have some good results for a little while, but that type of "leadership" has no staying power.

Hi folks,

The Blogger program (which is a Google product) is experiencing technical difficulties related to compatibility with certain versions of Internet Explorer. It's messing up a lot of blogs that use Blogger, including this one.

Comments seem to work fine, but it's preventing me from making new posts.

I'm no computer guru, so I haven't been able to fix it. Then again, I haven't tried very hard.

I'm sort of losing interest in being primarily a spectator in an ongoing food fight. It might be time for someone else to take it over or start a new blog.

That's some scary a-- sh-- when your cops behave worse than alot of perps. Give us a list of the remaining cops who have kept their mouths shut done their jobs honorably and not sued anyone. It must be a very short list.

Anonymous said...

Not a surprise. Given the childish antics of the mayor and council, why should anyone expect the employees to be any better. I imagine you'll find lots of similar antics in other Borough run operations as well.

Anonymous said...

So a police force simply can't keep it together if they see elected civilians behaving badly or without adult supervision?? They've got no choice but to mimic the bad behavior? That doesn't say much about the police force.

Anonymous said...

Nor about the civilians!

You'd better hope you don't drive these people to quit because then you'll have to take over and see just how difficult it is.

The union will not destroy the school. It will give the aides what is fair. They absolutely care about the children of Morrisville. The poster above is right; it is not an easy job. One has nothing to do with the other.

Anonymous said...

What do the aides want that they think is fair? If its more money then where will the district find the money. The paper said they have over a $700,000 deficit. Money has to come from somewhere.

Anonymous said...

Isnt one of the uniin leaders a friend of board members and a few related to a board member and one related to an ex council do nothing?

Anonymous said...

Please name names, no idea who you're talking about, which ruins your anon guilt by association bomb throw.

Anonymous said...

I don't care who they are. Friend or family member doesn't make a difference. I want to know what the aides think is fair. More money? What?

Anonymous said...

Great now we have the aides taking g over the school well maybe th3y can work for pennsbury

Anonymous said...

Your weaselly comments are increasing my sympathy for the aides. Is reverse psychology your intention?

Anonymous said...

Suggestion -- unfounded lawsuits to block unionization, followed by juvenile complaining about legal bills.

Anonymous said...

In what way are the aides "taking g over the school"? Are they now replacing the Superintendent, Business Manager, Principals, etc and serving as the entire Administrative Team? Or are you using Jackassian Hyperbole because you're pissed they decided to organize as they have in many other districts?

Morrisville schools settle Head Start suit
By GEMA MARIA DUARTE Staff writer | Posted: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 8:28 pm
Morrisville School District has settled a more than $300,000 lawsuit with Bucks County Head Start
for $50,000.
Bucks County Head Start filed a $308,849 lawsuit against the school district in March 2012 in Bucks
County Court.
“The district makes no representation or warranties regarding any tax obligations arising out of the
payment of the settlement funds,” and Head Start is OK with that, according to the settlement signed
in late January and recently released to the newspaper. No further comment by officials was made.
Head Start, a nonprofit group that provides comprehensive social services and early childhood
education to needy families and children, had a 20-year lease contract with Morrisville School
District for the use of the former Manor Park School building on Penn Avenue.
That lease was slated to run from May 1, 1999, to Dec. 31, 2018. The district ended the lease on
March 29, 2010, for unknown reasons, according to court papers.
The lease agreement stated that if the school district terminated the lease before 2018, it had to pay
Head Start the actual costs, minus depreciation, for any building improvements, according to the
lawsuit. Additionally, Morrisville School District had to pay 40 percent of the amount Head Start has
paid the district in rent.
Head Start spent $20,438 for parking lot repairs, $23,358 for boiler gas conversion, another
$162,925.60 for the roof replacement, and $55,029.43 for heating and air conditioning repairs and
replacement, according to court papers.
All those expenses totaled $261,751. Of that, Head Start argued that the district owed the agency
$167,281.71.
Head Start paid $353,952 to the district in rent since 1999; the agency asked that Morrisville School
District pay 40 percent of that, which totals $141,580, according to the suit. Head Start demanded
payment in a letter to the district dated March 29, 2011. The agency claimed the district had refused
to fulfill its payment, according to court papers.
In addition to the $308,849, Head Starts wanted the district to pay $15,000 in lawyer fees and court
costs.
When the suit was filed in 2012, a former school board made the decision to end the lease. The
lawsuit included those former board members and some others who currently sit on the school board

Anonymous said...

Whether nature or nurture your choice or not you're a douche, aides chose to union ize and that is the taxpayers problem.

Anonymous said...

yes it is the tax payers burden and that should not be the case to pay them more $ and they have summers off and benefits to boot while the school is going down hill and cant pay what they have now good luck finding another job when they school closes
