Oh man, I missed it. What did she do this time? Oh crap, this attention is encouraging her. Remain silent. Nothing to see here. No. I can't help it. It's like a car wreck. I don't want to see it, but I can't help myself.

Spill it! Tell us what MM did this time.

Video is on District's web now.

Mihok is an ALUMNA of the Asses of Evil.

I heard a rumor Mihok was a miserable nasty loser. That rumor turned out to be true.

"Mihok is an ALUMNA of the Asses of Evil."

I think the correct plural is "Axes", pronounced ax-eez, as in "I have some major self esteem and anger issues so as part of my therapy I have a lot of sour grapes axes to grind in a public forum so I am once again the center of attention?"

I watched the video. Pardon me while a barf in my mouth a bit, but I agree with Her Heinousness on one thing:

I don't see how it's a good idea to reopen Manor Park. I'd need a lot of convincing on the wisdom of that.

That said, I thought the way Mihok went about making her point was rotten - as usual.

*If* we need another school building, Reiter is not available after SOC poisoned it. Manor Park is all we have left.

We could fall into the SOC trap and (dramatic music) BUILD A NEW SCHOOL!

OK. Maybe Manor Park is an alternative.

Here's some fake money:

“We are going to give you back the money that you spent for the school that didn’t get built."

Why would we need another school building?
I ask that not to say that we don't, but to understand why we might.

Can you hear them now?

The Morrisville School Board said the exit survey taken at November 2006 Election Day polling places was not credible due to pro-new-school voters being intimidated by the pollsters and choosing not to voice their view. That silent majority, which is said to favor a new pre-K-through-12 school, apparently shared this with the school board president and the mayor.

The next occasion for the pro-new-school crowd to show their mandate was the May 2007 primary election. The six Stop the School candidates won the Republican slots by 74 percent of the vote and the Democrat nod by 77 percent. Still, the school board president insisted that the no-party, independents, Green Party and Libertarian voters who were turned away from the primary polling places would have carried the pro-school candidates to victory.

At the October school board meeting the board president stated that more independent voters were turned away from the primary than the total number of people who voted. This is true if voter turnout was 100 percent of registered voters.

And, finally, we arrived at the Nov. 6, 2007 general election to await the deciding vote for the three pro-new-school “Community Party” candidates.

The votes have been tallied and the overwhelming majority of voters have spoken again. The Stop the School candidates won by even more votes, 90 percent!

Madame school board president, have you heard the voters now?

Marlys, not to put too fine a point on it, but your use of 'Madame' in the last sentence of your letter is technically incorrect.

Strictly speaking, ‘Madam’ is generally used to refer to a mistress of a household. On the other hand, ‘Madame’ refers to a married French woman.

The word ‘Madam’ has a sense of authority or rank attached to it. That is why it is often considered as a term used to address a woman who occupies a high rank or authority in an organization or in the society.

On the other hand, ‘Madame’ is used as a kind of title or form of address used of a French-speaking woman.

So, Marlys, you probably should have used 'Madam' instead.

By the way, Madam Mihok, have you heard the voters now?

Morrisville kids raise money

Caring. . .Sharing

Morrisville is proud of the caring children in Grandview Elementary and the Intermediate school for raising $2,385.46 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Grandview’s pre-K to 4th grade classes collected $2,304.76. The pre-K children raised $477.46, which is the most collected in one class. For their good work, the pre-K class will be treated to a “pasta party” in the classroom – catered by the Olive Garden Restaurant.

Student Leadership Academy Boosts Fire Victim Fund Student-Faculty Basketball Game Ends in Tie

Leadership Academy --Game Sponsors

The Morrisville High School Leadership Academy sponsored the 2nd Annual Student-Faculty basketball game held Monday, March 19 in the high school gym. The game was a key fundraiser for the Leadership Academy, as well as a reward for the students who “survived” the week’s PSSA tests.

To a cheering pre-game crowd, the Leadership Academy announced they had raised $1,884.47, with the various school donors opting to send most of the money to aid the victims of a recent Morrisville fire. The remainder will be sent to the Academy’s 2012 charity, Save the Children Fund.

Plans for the Student-Faculty game began in February, according to Leadership Academy President Casey Hollopeter. It was decided the game would be a “reward” for each first period classroom that raised at least $20 for the Academy’s charity. As an added incentive, the classroom that raised the most money also would “win” a pizza party, said Academy Vice President, Cassidy Shemelia.

And the game? After the students took the opening lead, it was touch-and-go until the rousing final minutes and final score – 35-35.

MORRISVILLE STUDENTS SHINE AT SOUTHEASTERN REGION

For weeks, Morrisville’s 5th and 6th grade students worked on their Odyssey of the Mind projects, planning and rehearsing in after-school hours for the Southeastern Regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition. They did not disappoint.
Coached by teachers Bethany Coleman and Richard Boats, the Morrisville teams were praised by the judges for finding creative solutions to a “problem” through planning, thought and, of course, teamwork.
The annual competition, that included 120 regional student teams from Kindergarten to 12th grade, was held March 17 at Southern Lehigh High School in Center Valley, PA
“We are very proud of our teams for making such a big commitment, creating their presentation, and taking it to the competition. Both presentations were well received by the audience,” said Ms. Coleman.
Mr. Boats noted his 5th grade class did “very well” for their first time in the Odyssey competition. “The judges commented most on their scenery, props and creative characters. I’m very proud of how well they did,” he said.
The Odyssey of the Mind program, Odyssey Angels, challenges teams to help out their fellow citizens. The student teams create and present an original performance in which they encounter negative situations they turn into positive ones, ultimately saving a community.
The teachers thanked the following for their generous contributions: Morrisville Opportunity Education Foundation (MOEF) and 21st Century, and competition judges, Ana Ramirez, Ann Josette Ramirez, Angel Stamps, and Beth Darling (parent of Odyssey participant). Also, the Shegda family for donating the Odyssey Angels T-shirts the contestants wore and to all the parents whose children participated in Odyssey of the Mind.

Let's think of this as a reality TV show and let Marlys have the first 3 minutes...no FIVE minutes...to spew her misguided rants at every BOE meeting where there's public comment. The public can hold up numeric score signs rating her on presentation, coherence, general nuttiness, and wardrobe.

Stay on Coarse, Marlys, you're setting the stage for your 2013 comeback!!!

Is there any validity to the Manor Park thing, or is it a cooked up rumor? If real, I'd be curious to hear the plans. I'm open minded to the idea since I'm not a big fan of trailers or overcrowding.

One item on the agenda is to renew the lease on the modular units outside of Grandview Elementary.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to comment, please feel free to email me at dmiller@mv.org

I look forward to hearing views from the public on the modulars, Manor Park, or other facility options that will provide the most cost-effective option for the taxpayers of Morrisville without compromising the environment of the students.

Threadjack Alert!!!

Since I don't see an active potpourri thread, I am posting this here.

I saw this in Sunday's paper, and I am mightily dismayed to see that this person, an active member of our own ActorsNet, would do such a thing. Between this and the shootings and crimes reported around town lately, including the murder on Plaza Blvd over the weekend, the rape last week, and the teenagers who killed the guitarist, I am getting more and more concerned for my own safety around here.

MORRISVILLE — A New Jersey man may have handed Morrisville police evidence that could land him in jail for more than 20 years.

Corey W. Stradling, 42, of Hamilton, N.J., was charged with burglary, receiving stolen property and theft by police after he allegedly broke a window at a home in the 300 block of East Birch Drive, according to court documents filed with District Judge Frank Peranteau Sr.

A witness saw a man leaving the home and reported that he was acting “suspiciously,” according to statements by Morrisville officers Chris McIntyre and Justin Bickhardt, who made the arrest.

The residents were not home when the neighbor saw the suspect, later identified as Stradling.

On Friday, the alleged victims told police jewelry valued at $4,500 was missing from their bedroom.

They checked with Cash For Gold, 696 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and learned that four rings had been pawned the day of the burglary, records show.

The business photocopied Stradling’s license and photographed items before giving him money, records show. The residents positively identified their items.

Police knew where Stradling worked and went to question him.

They showed him the photocopy from Cash For Gold and asked him where the rest of the jewelry was.

Stradling said, “in my pocket,” police said. He then gave police a bag of jewelry containing 16 items, court records show.

Peranteau sent Stradling, who said he was an actor on disability, to Bucks County prison in lieu of $10 percent of $40,000 bail.
