EVERY PARENT AND/OR PERSON CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE EFFECTS ON THEIR COMMUNITY NEED TO BE AT THE AGENDA MEETING WEDS AT 7:30PM AND THEN AT THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING ON 6/29 7:30PM ALSO.
THERE ARE MANY 'TENTATIVE' CHANGES/CUTS ON THE HORIZON AND IT IS ALMOST GUARANTEED THAT SOME OF THOSE ARE GOING TO SLAP YOU IN THE FACE!
SPEAK ON BEHALF OF YOUR KIDS OR THE KIDS WHO JUST GRADUATED OR ON BEHALF OF WHAT A BAD DISTRICT WITH BARE BONES PROGRAMS WILL DO TO YOUR COMMUNITY AND YOUR HOME VALUES.
Other feel free to chime in, and forgive me if I get some of the details wrong (admittedly, I usually come out of the Superintendent Meetings more confused than I went in), but below are some of the changes I've heard.
1. Full Day Kindergarten might not be as "Full Day" as it seems. It may end 45 mins earlier than it currently does, by dropping Specials (e.g. Art, Music, Gym).
2. There will be 9-10 fewer aides. Very few aides will be general classroom Teaching Assistants. Almost all aides will be Personal Care Assistants/Emotional Learning Support/1-on-1's semi-dedicated to students with IEPs.
3. French instruction may be done via an on-line service (e.g. Apex) instead of a certified instructor. Bonjour, mon nom est l'Apex 9000, je suis votre professeur français.
4. Something's being "cut"/"delivered in a different way" re: Home Economics/Lifeskills/Family Consumer Science (FCS).
Question concerning: 3. French instruction may be done via an on-line service (e.g. Apex) instead of a certified instructor. Bonjour, mon nom est l'Apex 9000, je suis votre professeur français
Isn't the French instructor also the "gifted teacher"? If so, what's the plan for gifted education?
Bill Ferrara said something at the 6/15 Superintendent Meeting about Ms. Worrell and gifted. Hopefully someone else who was there can clock in, because I don't remember the details or even if there were any details. Mostly things seem all mushy and uncertain. I still don't know exactly how the heck those $30,000 Grandview doors ended up, and I thought that was a straightforward question.
dude that seems more like a spam posting for rolex or viagra than a real place to get info. i went anyway with all my malware blockers ready and found its a good place for moville info with no viruses. its full of info how the school board is cutting everything.

i am the one that stirs the drink. if i sit here, yonson’s spending will kill this town. she has two puppet board members that do whatever she tells them, and the TINY pro-Schoolers crew. ha ha ha! they are all sand-pounders. ha ha ha!
one by one they are either leaving or being replaced. soon yonson will be by herself. i have been talking to bill fararra (sic) and I like him and so do other board members. he likes the consolidation we are talking about (tuitioning out). i assured him we will always need a super and at least one principal.
i know i am not polite at the meetings. i will work on that and try to be more patient and respectful to the other fools. my problem is I have little patience for incompetence and i am surrounded by those types of people up there.
