The safe bet is there's no B-Ball court.

Board members who obviously read this -- what happened to the B-Ball court?
"To do it later: another bid, award, mobilization, etc. More money."
I think you nailed it with "More money." Ultimately, to have put the lot on the other side, it would have required leveling of the ground, additional curbs, possibly moving the playground, etc. Maybe a better choice, but not necessarily the cheapest choice.
What about keeping the parking lot where it is, but paving a small pad just beyond the parking lot for the basketball hoop? Too tough to handle, too tricky to sketch?
Angry, I totally understand the frustration of them being in office, and I agree with voting them out of office, but let's use facts and call them on the issues. Lord knows, there are plenty of darn good factual reasons to vote them out.

T.A.G.,(Towns Against Graffiti),is a public partnership between nine municipalities in Lower Bucks County. T.A.G. which removes graffiti from 1,400 sites in Bucks County a year is funded by donations that pay for a truck, high pressure washer and removal crew.
you whinny sour grapes bloglosers will never be happy no matter how badly we do or how much we ignore you. what choice do we have but to be petty and shortsited over farely small amounts of money? Thank GOD we have leadres who understand this!
The answer is yes and no. The T.A.G. organization is VERY expensive. It would not be very cost effective for Morrisville to participate in the T.A.G. program. That being said, Morrisville does have ordinances about graffiti. As a rule, if someone sees graffiti anywhere in the borough they should call borough hall to report it. This is taken very seriously. It will be taken care of promptly. I believe pictures are taken of the graffiti before its cleaned up and it goes into a database to help identify it with others.
All Years Reunion for Morrisville Alumni taking place Saturday, October 1st, 2011 starting 1pm at The Island (Williamson Park)...bring a chair and your cooler and mingle with your old school mates. More info to come. SAve the date!
Stop complaining here and get out of the house. Talk to your neighbors and tell them about these people ruining the Morrisville School District. Get them to come out and vote these lame brains out of office. Unless you do that, get ready to spend more time complaining on the blog.
Life lessons: Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat
Posted: Sunday, August 14, 2011 6:00 am | Updated: 10:06 am, Fri Aug 12, 2011. 0 comments Morrisville is a little town with a lot of heart when it comes to sports. You just have to look at its track record which stretches back even farther than the 1959 Little League champs to know this is true. But I would like to talk about the here and now and a game I watched this summer between the Morrisville Grays and the Newtown Blues during the playoffs for the championship of the Senior Babe Ruth Baseball League. The first game of the three game series was won by the Newtown Blues, making it a two and done situation. In the second playoff game at the bottom of the 7th inning the score was Newtown 5, Morrisville 1. Morrisville had two outs and nobody on.
That's when the Morrisville Grays reached down deep inside and brought out the right stuff. They became alive and started to have fun. They strongly encouraged each other and the individual players became a well-oiled machine that performed baseball magic. In the face of certain defeat they mustered the courage and confidence they needed and pulled out all the stops. The crowd went wild and when the dust had settled the Morrisville Grays had won the second game of the playoffs in the bottom of the 11th inning, the final score Morrisville 11, Newtown 5. This win kept the playoffs alive and the third game for the championship was scheduled for the next evening. The Newtown Blues won the third game and thus won the championship of the Senior Babe Ruth Baseball League for 2011. I would like to congratulate them for a hard-fought season and well deserved championship. I am sure they will remember their victory for the rest of their lives. I hope too that those young men of the Morrisville Grays also realize and remember their win. Not everyone can face the hand dealt them and snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat. Not everyone can display that level of team work and heart that these young men showed at the crucial moment. Sports teaches us a lot of different things on a lot of different levels. Not the least of which is a never-give-up spirit and a sense of pride and sportsmanship. Commendations go to the coaches for the time they put into these young men and the life lessons they teach them and also to the supportive parents without whom these athletes would never have had the opportunity to show just what they were made of. The Babe Ruth Senior Baseball League gave us a great season and an exciting playoff. Morrisville is very proud of you. Diane Hughes Morrisville
maybe the board should read the letter since they cut middle school football which is the foundation of our high school team. how can you justify that with 28 kids who signed up to play and want to be a part of the future dawgs
Don't you see, adversity builds character. Those cuts are teaching the kids a valuable lesson of 'facing the hand dealt them'. It's up to them to 'snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat', by showing 'team work and heart' and a 'never-give-up spirit and a sense of pride and sportsmanship'. If they really want to play football, they will find a way. If they don't, then they clearly lacked these essential qualities.
Less than half of that number signed up for middle school football. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anything cut. But put the money into programs the where the students actually want to participate. There are more kids in the band than play football, there are 40+ students that play ms and hs field hockey, 50-60 students that play ms and hs soccer (they won the first championship is school history this past year), baseball and softball are always successful. Girls and Boys basketball at both ms and hs have ample participation. Cost analysis, football costs more than the rest of the athletic department combined. They have the least amount of interest, and the least amount of success. And girls aren't allowed to play.
Am I reading this right, that you feel I and/or others on this blog are more anti-board than pro-student? Please expound upon this. I'm honestly interested in what's behind your statement.
If that's what you're saying, I think you're off base. Personally, yes, I'm anti-board, but BECAUSE they're not pro-student. It's a reaction to that. This board is overwhelmingly pro-themselves, pro-low tax, and pro-their way or the highway. They're anti-listening, anti-compromise, anti-nuanced thought, anti-transparency, and anti-factual information.
I want honest brokers who are going to make decisions based on hard facts and thorough thought, not ideology, and communicate them well to everyone. That ain't sufficiently happening now, in my humble opinion.
"There are more kids in the band than play football"
I seriously question the accuracy of this statement and wish that people would check the most up to date numbers before putting out more misinformation. Also, without a football team, there is less need for a band at all.
"I want honest brokers who are going to make decisions based on hard facts and thorough thought, not ideology, and communicate them well to everyone."
Well said, Jon. If we had such a board I would stand 100% behind them, even though I would not expect to agree with them 100% of the time. And if they showed/communicated some of this, then perhaps their decisions would not be harshly criticized. Sometimes hard decisions need to be made and they may not always favor the students -- you can't always get what you want, right -- but to completely and unilaterally reject community input and simply ignore their questions is unacceptable. While there are many out there that were not a fan of "the Sandy Gibson board" at least they took a few moments after every public comment session to respond to the concerns of the people.
who's numbers are wrong the person who said 28 kids were said to have signed up for ms football or the person after that saying there are more kids in the band then on the football team?
I don't know. What I do know is that board members have lied, used wrong information, or labored under false assumptions before on a range of topics. That shatters trust, so my initial tendency is to not believe the board member or supporter. As a citizen and/or parent of an MSD student, you'd like to think that your elected board members are not lying, using wrong information, or laboring under false assumptions when they make decisions. But it's been going on for 4 years, so it's a way of life for them. Hence, I will vote for their opponents to try to inject some NOT THAT and balance onto the board.

Oh, here it is, the answers have just arrived (see below). I'm bringing them up here because they were inconveniently just posted on a June 25, 2011 thread. I can see where the numbers of band camp vs fb practice might not represent the actual number of kids participating in those activities. Our child is in the band but is not at band camp because of having a summer job. Its the same for many of the older Morrisville kids.
Wake people this current board is anti working family!! anti union !! anti children !! how can give four more years to a group of people who are worried about only one half of a school board member's job which is taxes because we know they don't give a crap about the other half of that job, the education of this towns children
Just have to say that band camp is going well. Third day into camp and the kids are doing great. Nice to see people stop and watch them as they are practicing. Your support is what they need. The halftime show is coming together nicely. Hope to see you all in the stands at the football games watching our talented kids of Morrisville.

Gee, i hope they cut the pole so it can't be reused.
A nice gesture to show you give a s*** --- no can do.
Thanks School Board for helping create more idle time for kids and for your tremendous unresponsiveness to reasonable inquiries!!!

The halftime show is coming together nicely. Hope to see you all in the stands at the football games watching our talented kids of Morrisville.
Thanks, Donna. Glad to hear it!
