Perfect Fit for Mayor?

Perfect fit for mayor

Posted: Tuesday, October 22, 2013 6:00 am
I am writing in support of Bill Pepitone and his candidacy for mayor of Morrisville. As his neighbor, I have come to know Bill quite well on a personal level. Not only did he watch our oldest daughter as an infant, he has been a go-to person in time of need. Bill is always willing to go above and beyond in help of others. As a parent and member of the community, the largest issue I see facing Morrisville is the state of the police department. Bill has the experience and expertise necessary to bring order back to the Morrisville Police Department.
As a New York City police officer, a portion of his career was spent training cadets. This experience can be used to improve Morrisville's Police Department on his first day in office; making the department more efficient and effective. As a decorated New York City police officer, he knows what it means to serve the public. He is a hard-working individual who would use any and all resources at his disposal to improve the wonderful community of Morrisville. Bill loves Morrisville and wants nothing more than to see it flourish.
I strongly believe that, as mayor, he will help it to do just that.

I was hoping to be impressed. I'm not. He comes in #2 out of 3, and I only get 1 vote. Congratulations Kitty, I'm voting for Rivella!

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Where has Kitty been during all of this? Guess she just thinks of this guy as a nuisance (which is all he is)

I don't know why she agreed to this farce of a debate... She's only giving Peps power...

Anonymous said...

Anyone afraid to address the issues in front of the community has no right to seek office.
I can understand why someone who has been in office and is part of this current disaster would not want to speak publicly on any of the issues
At least this guy has the guts to step up and answer questions. Of course, those of you that have benefited from this mess will support those that have caused it. Not a surprise that you do not want change. The sad truth is this guy can do no worse then the people who are currently in office.

You may be right he can do better than Rita Ledger. The bar for her is set so G-damn disgustingly low, I don't think you want that as the Gold Standard of mayoral accomplishment.

He (Pep), his rhetoric and some of his supporters have not won me over. When you hang with Burgerites and the usual suspect hacks about town, that troubles me, as does suddenly getting involved and not having your facts any straighter than the people you attack.

Anonymous said...

Say what you will about Rita, but she has lived here her whole life and put in her time...

What have you done Peps, besides QUIT the only Morrisville-based job you've ever had????
(BTW- if you're going to post "Anon", make sure you don't talk about "having the guts" and sound a little less like an angry teapot... Maybe you'll be able to cover your tracks better, Brian Jones)

New to our borough said...

How can any of you support anyone Republican or Democrat that has been involved in politics in our borough for a lengthy period? Bill Pepitone is a new face with no allegiance to either of these groups. He has new ideas and could give us a fresh start. Really, you want to cling to this mess and keep supporting it?

Old to our borough said...

How? Been around paying attention long enough to know its certain individuals are the real problem. You shouldn't paint the whole body with a broad brush.

Fred Kerner isn't the problem.

Ledger, Driesbach, Smith, Sanford? Problems.

Rivella, Sherlock, Jeff Johnson, Cicero not perfect by any means but at least try to move ahead and not obstruct everything and file costly lawsuits left & right.

Bowers represents more obstruction and retreat. Fred Kerner deserves the nod in Ward 3.

Westrope? Another Burger disciple.

Anonymous said...

Tax collector? Elaine Miller (R) v. Pat Pordash (D). I feel Pordash is sub-mediocre and has had her day. What do people think???

Anonymous said...

"Afraid" interesting choice of wording. Only someone who doesn't know Dave Rivella would say he is afraid of much. This is the guy who drove the train to get Jane Burger off of council because she was not working for the town and he has lived through hell. I doubt he is "afraid" of what this write in candidate can throw at him. I read his reasons and I think he made the right decision. I wouldn't have given Pepitone a podium for which to bash our town either. Kitty is a fool to debate Pepitone.

Anonymous said...

"At least this guy has the guts to step up and answer questions."

Yes he loves to answer questions. The problem is he has no idea what he's talking about most of the time. For this reason along I would not give him a try in the top seat in the borough. He sounds like a spoiled child. His behavior last night was ridiculous.

When there is talk of clinging to the mess it just shows how much you don't know. Morrisville's problems started long before the current council. And it has been difficult to clean up so many years of neglect. But they have been taking it on, with obstructionists and little public support in the process. Don't like what you see? Don't blame the very people who have been trying to clean up years of your inability to pay attention to what others were doing only to come in late and point your finger.

Anonymous said...

I know that I am voting for Dave, the InBalance group, & Ivan but the tax collector seat is a tough one. Pat P. has done things that I don't approve of and things that aren't legal. Elaine M. I know absolutely nothing about. I have a big problem in going with an unknown because our community is so small. I also have a HUGE problem going with someone who is openly supported by the Morrisville Republican Club because let's face it, we know who they are.

Anonymous said...

If you think one person can go in alone and clean things up, you are very mistaken. Look how 5 people have been trying over the past few years, and have been blocked by the other 4.
Saying that everyone on Council is the source of Morrisville's problems shows that you haven't been paying attention. It took you this long to notice? Where have you been? Rivella, Sherlock, Johnson, and sometimes Ciciro have been trying clean up a huge mess left from years of neglect and mismanagement.

If you really wanted to fix things, you would support them and tell the others to go away.

The police situation is not the only problem. Another hint that you don't know what you are talking about.

The people that Westrope, Pepitone, bowers and the others are supporters of the ones we finally got rid of after years. Because the town said enough already!! Now you want them back in? That makes no sense.

This is the best post you put up so far.

And if Rivella wins, I bet Pat Schell will be appointed to the remainder of his term. She lost last time so this is their way to worm her in again. We don't need her again.

Anonymous said...

Pat Schell is a loose cannon but was talking sense last nite about the goon squad obstructionists on council. Wasting money and watching infrastructure crumble all around them. Dragging the whole town down with them in their petty little political pursuits. I don't care if she gets an appt or not, good on ya, Pat for what you said last nite!

I'm not crazy about Pat Schell either, she lost to Rita after all, but she was right last night. Maybe there is someone else in the 4th Ward who throw their hat in.

What flyers honcho? Were they campaign literature? Who paid for them? An illegal 50/50?

So how is Pepitone going do this all on his own, now that he has trashed everyone he would have to work with? Where is he getting the money? how much will it cost us? Doesnt he need council for funding his ideas? The mayor doesn't have the power of a dictator.

Why doesn't he apply for the police chief job? Is there a reason he is not eligible? Would a background check rule him out? After all, he is looking to be mayor, and that is more than the police part. He is obviously interested only in the police.

If he had gone about this right, he may have made a good chief. But he bends the rules in his favor, and is a jerk. Why does this anger make him worthy of leading anything?

Loved those flyers! Keep it up! It's an extremely effective tactic.

It's not creepy at all that, in the dark of night in the Boro Hall parking lot when people were attending a government meeting, you slipped out and slid anonymous attack campaign literature under a bunch of cars' windshield wipers.

I saw that Pepitone was talking about a grant that Rita brought to council for a new chief. I remember this. It was underfunded. To Pepitone: When you have lived here but not paid attention and don't to know what's actually going on, then you get your sideways information from Jane, either directly or through Rita, you really should read the fine print of it to find out what the real information is. Or...you can act like the rest of the crony Republican factor in Morrisville and their followers and just run with what you have and hope some of it sticks. It's called having integrity/or not.

Anonymous said...

I saw that he tried to blame Dave for that not happening because apparently now everything that council has or has not done in the last six years is Dave's fault. People are not bright. As a cop he is using "mob mentality" methods to try to win the mayor's seat. Some in Morrisville are not so bright.

Clear choice for mayor

My parents moved to Morrisville in 1962, and I have been a resident of the borough for most of my 46 years. After several years in New Jersey, my husband and I moved back into the house and neighborhood I grew up in because Morrisville is a great place to raise a family.

Sadly, I have watched Morrisville decline over the past 15 years. Businesses and families I once knew and grew up with have left, only to see undesirable elements taking their place. This is not the Morrisville I want my children to grow up in.

When mentioning to my father that I was going to start attending council meetings, asking questions and speaking out, he responded, "Stay out of Morrisville politics" — nothing more. Those of us who have lived here for a long time know what "Morrisville politics" entails: sniping, lack of leadership, personal agendas. It's time for that to end.

I am supporting Bill Pepitone for mayor of Morrisville on Nov. 5. He is a retired, decorated NYPD officer who is committed to making our borough, homes and children safe again. His leadership abilities and qualities will help him build bridges between the government, police department, school district and residents. And he has executable ideas that can make Morrisville a better place for everyone.

Bill Pepitone has earned the respect and trust of my family and me. Write in his name on Nov. 5.

I think the cop grant was for a an officer. I also think it was underfunded.

NYPD doesn't make him qualified to be mayor just like it didn't make him qualified to be the interim chief.

If you don't like the state of Morrisville because of the last 15 years, blame the right people not the people who have stepped up to try to take it back. Blame Burger and her Burgerbots, blame your own guy Pepitone who has been one of them and sat (as he says) in defining silence.

Pepitone's smoking gun is

Let's take a trip down memory lane. How many of these stories are remembered?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Police_Department_corruption_and_misconduct

There is a certain mentality to goes along with NYPD officers moving to Morrisville. Angry Al has it, Victor Cicero has it, and Bill Pepitone has it...and I want NOTHING to do with it.

Anonymous said...

Honcho, can you pick up the Blue Phone to Pepitone, find out the contents of the yellow envelope Mayor Rita Ledger gave to him at the council meeting, and let us know?

Pepitone has been on here before himself, so Pepitone if you're checking in, how's about an answer to this simple question?

Anonymous said...

"I see that every NYPD scandal is connected to Pepitone"

Pepitone opened the door for this himself by blaming everything connected to Morrisville on council and Dave. Honcho, speaking of hypocrites, you have had no problem with Pepitone basing his entire campaign on boasting about himself and trying to take Dave down by whatever means possible. By your own words you have contributed to that, so while you're talking about hypocrites, look in the mirror.

If you are having problems with your cops, why the heck would you put a cop in as mayor? Especially one more seasoned than our own who has already shown that he thinks he is above the law. Now this IS funny. On Pepitone's facebook page, Eileen Dreisbach asks if Pepitone has any management experience.

Does Kitty even know that she has been left out in the cold by her own allies?

Eileen did try to get rid of Borough Manager Bates at the October council meeting. Since Pepitone isn't qualified to be the chief and isn't going to be the mayor, maybe she is trying to get him to be the borough manager.

I can't decide if Eileen asked the question to get in a "dig" at him or to help him. I saw early on, (not that early on - he only decided to run a couple of months ago) that Pepitone was having someone from NY feed him questions so that he could answer them on his fb page.

When I saw Eileen's post, my first thought was that she had jumped the Westrope ship and was feeding Peppy a question, but she may actually think she is helping Westrope by pointing out that he has no management exp. Either way, he has no municipal experience.

Her question and whatever ridiculous answer he may give means nothing to me because I haven't trusted anything Eileen has said in years and I don't trust anything Pepitones says either. They are working for the same puppet master.

Well, let's see, there's me, Mike Honcho, and ... I really don't know.

This blog gets about 200-250 pageviews per day; about 7,000/month; and over 156,000 since it started in April 2011. I'm not sure how that translates into people.

It's probably just the same 10 people checking it 20-25 times a day. I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like anyone has ever said "I saw on the blog ...", or "I heard it said of the blog ..." or anything like that.

This is a small town. There's no grapevine. Rumors don't fly. Word doesn't travel. A murky stew of fiction, fastasy, lies, distortion, misinformation, propaganda, ideological zealotry, and occasional facts doesn't shape the body politic. No, not here. Never has. Never will. For that we are truly blessed. Yes, I am being sarcastic.

Honcho and Pepitone live by the rule It's OK when the Republicans do it. Dave Rivella is an IBEW member, therefore he is guilty of the worst excesses ever discovered from union members. When Pepitone waves the NYPD flag, not connecting him to "cop mentality" is a crime? Republican law and order people know so well how everyone else should live and don't have a clue about how to run their own lives.

Eileen D. said...

It was a questioned I wanted an answer to. I only met Pepitone once and I probably wouldn't recognize him agin if I saw him.
My concern with Mr. Bates is the unauthorized spending he has done, as well as withholding a 1.4 mil contract until after we voted on it. We should have had. Contract to review before a vote. How can a contract go from $750,000 to $1.4 mil in a couple of months. How can you vote without seeing a breakdown of the work to be done, or the cost per project. And there is a big difference between an energy eff. Project and an improvement project. As far as advertising and bids.
I could care less if you believe me or like me, but you should find out all the facts.

Eileen D said...

If you were at the meeting you would have heard my second motion, which was to advertise immediately for a Borough Mgr. I have no one in mind for that position, other than someone who will communicate with the entire council body. And do the best job possible to keep this borough running with improvement projects. Not necessarily with a 17 year contract, where only that individual can do said repairs at an unaddressed cost for the next 17 years.

Anonymous said...

I don't trust you to provide the facts. Sad, because if there really is something there, you don't have the ability to articulate it convincingly. Thank you for your service, but your replacement should easily do better.

Anonymous said...

I agree, advertise for the business manager. The contract ends Dec. 31. Advertise now, get the applicants. Interview and vote in Dec., after re-org, when lame ducks you and Veta Ledger are out of office. Don't have anyone in mind? Don't get anyone in mind, you shouldn't be a part of it.

Eileen D. And who are you? said...

I have the proof, but that doesn't matter. How many meetings has my replacement been to? How many budget meetings, how many committee meetings. If you want to be on council or even know what's actuallly going on, you should attend as many meetings as possible. But then if you're on council, you're not always informed either.

Anonymous said...

It sounds as though all the anonymous posts only believe what they want te believe, be it fact or fiction. What a shame. Seems as though people don't really care what happens to our borough. I fear for what our community will turn into after this election.

You would have to be completely stupid not to know that you will not find another part time borough manager for the cost of Mr. Bates who will actually do the job as well as he has.

Put the job out there with that low price tag and you will get exactly what you are willing to pay for, which is not much.

Bates has gone above and beyond the scope of the job to try to pull Morrisville out of the sinkhole it has been left in.

I think the real problem is that Bates probably knows too much. He knows what he stepping into, knows what others have done before him, so he has to go. Sure make way for someone new and inexperienced as to what has actually gone on in the borough at the hands of Burger & Mount. I would want to get rid of Bates too if I were one of Burger's buddies. For all we know Burger wants the job for herself. I have no doubt that Bates has been trying to clean things up without embarrassing anyone who was previously in charge. I also have no doubt he knows a great many things, so you better work to get rid of him.

I hear a lot of talk about the Mayor race in Morrisville but there is an equally important race for the School Board going on and that includes the face to face race against sitting board members DANN DINGLE and Ron Stout. DANN is on the Democrat side of the ballot and Ron Stout is on the Republican side. As a current member of the School Board and lifelong Morrisville resident, I personally do not care which party they belong to but I do care about the amount of work either candidate has put into their position and what their individual contributions are to the budget process, increased educational opportunities, committee representation and participation in school and community events. DANN DINGLE is the clear winner in each of these categories! As Treasurer of the school board DANN leads the Finance committee and is an active member of the Education committee, HR Committee, Public Relations Committee, PTO and MOEF (Morrisville Opportunity Educational Fund). You can find him at the PTO events supporting the fundraising efforts of his wife Bonnie as well as Friday night football games supporting his home team. He researches, investigates and offers new ideas on a regular basis. If something doesn’t seem right, he challenges the answer. He attends all informational meetings and is quick to dig into the next task or the tough subjects that others shy away from. He is always courteous and respectful and presents professionally at every function. There is only one sitting member of the school board running this election that fills all the expectations and more of the job of School Board Director and who deserves your vote and that is DANN DINGLE.

Rita threw up a lot of smoke with her lawsuit to protect herself from liability for the police mess. Eileen is doing the same thing with her borough manager vendetta. It's all excuses with this bunch.

Debbie Smith and Todd Sanford are more all excuses and no action. So is Justin Bowers.

Anonymous said...

Peps still has not said a word about Rita - his latest (again) blames Dave T for making out children unsafe. Is he an idiot or does he just think everyone else is?

Dave is one vote - he doesn't run all of council.

How about placing some of that blame on the current mayor? How can you not have an opinion in that mess??

Anonymous said...

Dave's the one running for Mayor and he's the clear front-runner, so Peps has chosen to attack him, with occasional swipes at council as a whole. Ledger's not running, except her mouth and to her lawyers. Ledger gave Peps that yellow envelope, the contents of which may never be revealed. This bolsters Peps idea of transparency because the envelope exchange occurred in plain sight at a council meeting.

Here's Mr. Pepitone's neighborhood.

Anonymous said...

My take on Mr. Pepitone's campaign and crime as it pertains to Morrisville is this:

Does Morrisville have crime? Absolutely. Is it exclusive to Morrisville? Of course not. This doesn't mean Morrisville shouldn't do everything in it's power to prevent and deal with crime, as it has throughout its history.

Mr. Pepitone is an opportunist. His desire to be the top dog reads like a guy who needs a good therapist. His campaign is comprised of capitalizing on Bucks County crime and his trying to sell the illusion that Morrisville is not protected.

Even if we were understaffed, which we are not, we have mutual aide agreements with our neighbors, Lower Bucks County, the state and Mercer County. This means that we are never understaffed.

His "the sky is falling" approach laced with super cop have become a theme that have awakened a handful of people who haven't been paying attention at all and he is counting on them to not be in the position to make any real informed decisions. He himself is one of them.

I don't know what offends me more, that he has thought so little of our town that he decided it was a good campaign strategy to insult just about everyone in Morrisville and Morrisville itself, the attacks toward the Rivella family, or that he has been exploiting Morrisville crime events (and those from Falls Twp) in fear based reasons why he should be elected.

His attitude about Morrisville is the very reason he is the worst of the three people seeking the position of Morrisville mayor.

ICE COLD
"The New York Rangers are just eight wins away from the Stanley Cup, but just how far behind is the Iceman?
A security guard has been murdered inside the World’s Most Famous Arena, and the killer has left behind a note threatening more bloodshed should the buildings occupants succeed in their mission to capture hockey’s Holy Grail. In order to apprehend the murderous ‘Iceman’ before he strikes again, the NYPD turns to its most celebrated homicide investigator.
Unfortunately, he just retired.
Enter Detective Jack Placey, an unorthodox cop who has as many personal issues as he does solved homicide cases. Alternating between bouts of narcolepsy and insomnia, Placey is teamed up with Sergeant Ramona Isis, a sharp tongued hockey fanatic with demons of her own. The two investigators encounter a sideshow of possible suspects across three states in an effort to bring the Iceman to justice before he kills again and derails hockey history.
Can Jack Placey stay conscious long enough to keep the killers trail from turning ice cold?"

He wasn't qualified to be our police chief, he surely isn't qualified to be our mayor!

His latest post again bashes a town he has only been a part of for 6 or 7 years. He is a dangerous man - let's hope once he loses, he sells his house and goes elsewhere. Maybe they'll fall for his scare tactics and drama.

Mr. Pepitone Blames Dave Rivella for bashing him on this blog and hiding behind being ANONYMOUS I can tell you Mr. Pepitone you are dead wrong I know who makes those posts and it's not Dave

So even at the sham debate he did nothing but talk about Dave??
How about talking what you're going to do?? Could it be because he had no clue what the mayor can and cannot do?

I am still wondering if he is currently employed - did he talk about that at all?

Anonymous said...

Did anyone ask if any of the candidates had their houses up for sale in the last year?
That is certainly a relevant question for a mayoral candidate.

Sounds like anonymous is really the one who is uninformed. The boro is, and has been understaffed for some time. That is why we are seeking three full time officers. And not having a chief of police, doesn't make us understaffed. Wake up. You sound like one of the few who want to disband our police department.

Anonymous said...

No on else except Republicans keep bringing up disbanding the police department, in an effort to discredit Mr. Rivella - our police dept is not going anywhere.

Anonymous said...

What is so wrong with 2-3 yrs ago spending $600 to have our town's lawyer look into legal aspects of even the feasibility of dissolving the police dept? With the police dept disarray & disfunction coming to light, it sounds like a reasonable thing to ask about to me. There could be major legal obstacles to doing it even if a majority of council wanted to. That would be good to know whether some wanted to do it or not. No motions or votes or anything of the sort have happened in the 2-3 yrs since. That's a huge stretch for a smoking gun against Rivella. I guess it's smoke it if that's all you got. More like a backfire to me.

Anonymous said...

The vote Tuesday is real easy. For mayor do you want the Republican mail order minister, the write in Republican authoritarian bully or the Democrat who makes tries every day to boost Morrisville and bring us together? Rivella for Mayor.

Dave Rivella for Mayor.

Fred Kerner for 3rd Ward Council.

In Rivella's mailer yesterday, he claimed to have worked with the Morrisville Business Association. When? Not in the last six years. He's not a member, has not attended any meetings and has not contacted them in any way. So, Mr. Rivella, when did you work woth the MBA?

Anonymous said...

Provide answer in yellow envelope? Take picture with Kitty Westrope camera offered to but refused by all MBA members? Sue because you were prevented from achieving anything with MBA? Stop the childish nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw how "Brian Jones" aka Pepitone covered his tracks by saying he was in the Poconos.
How pathetic to create fake Facebook profiles to drum up support for himself. Think most of the likers of his page are NY-ers, his own fake profiles and fellow M'ville hot heads.

This is going to end after Tuesday right? At least tell me the hate burners are being turned down to simmer.

Not true. What picture of Westrope? Who was refused by the MBA?

All the police, vehicles and programs they both want would cost a boatload. They even want a canine unit.Good thing most of it is empty feelgood promises. A lot of what they talk about the mayor is beyond scope of the mayor's authority. I apprecaite the effort that went into planning, arranging and taping it.

Anonymous said...

What the hell are you talking about. How can you say that he hasn't been a member. I have a book put out by the MBA that has Dave's name in it as a member. It also has a page dedicated to the Arts and Events that Dave made happen FOR FREE. The pres of the business association shouldn't need to be told this stuff Kitty.

Anonymous said...

So Pepitone wants to waste resources by busting people not wearing a seatbelt as they come out of Dunkin Donuts? That's a professional police officer's plan?

Also: when asked how he would deal with borough council, he basically said "it'll be my way or the highway."

It's terrifying that so many people are giving this dangerous Johnny-come-lately any time. Let's hope his house sells in the coming year. Then: decisions, decisions....

Anonymous said...

I saw where someone referred to Peppy as that mosquito you can't quite swat and I thought it was fitting. I haven't watched all of the debate yet. I can only take hearing the incompetence and uninformed in small doses.

Anonymous said...

An officer charged with the task of working with a K-9 unit receives a hefty paycheck to go along with it. They are paid 24/7. This will never happen in Morrisville. The man who likes to make up stories of how much money the borough wastes should already know this.

Something that really bothered me about the "debate" was that both Kitty and Pepitone talked about having to look at the budget. I was kind of blown away by this for some reason. They each want to be the mayor and neither one of them has even looked at the borough's budget?! I have a huge problem with this.

"A leader does not REFUSE to meet members of the community and answer their questions in a public forum, and choose instead to hide behind politically safe statements on Facebook or through 'anonymous' posts on an unproductive and laughable local blog."

Aww Peps, you DO read us! *blush*

Anonymous said...

Peps would even have an aviation unit if he could do it. Armored Personnel Carriers (APC's), Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAP's), other military equipment and tactical training didn't come up yet I suspect this would be supported also.

Anonymous said...

The debate itself was a joke. It was the brain child of a couple who have openly supported Pepitone instead of by the League of Women Voters to at least give it credibility. I am in no way saying that this couple did anything underhanded, but the potential was there from the beginning. How do we know where the questions actually came from and how do we know that Pepitone wasn't fed the questions ahead of time to prepare. The bias is implied if the forum is put in place with people who have a bias of one candidate over another. It's pretty unprofessional. I wouldn't have done it either.

Anonymous said...

It takes a twisted mind to talk about someone not taking part in a sideways debate when they are running as a last minute write in/

A leader does not refuse to be a part of the electoral process in the spring only to come in at the last minute because a neighbor told him to. A leader at least votes

Hopefully, once Peppy -La - Pew loses and sells his house, things will go back to somewhat normal... Maybe even the people that run the town watch page will wake up.

Mr "anonymous" Whenever you wanna see the proof that there was no question feeding or it not being bias give me a call.
It is not are fault that Dave did not wanna take part in this and if would have him and his supports would have seen this. Not go around trying to discredit this event. So if you were not there and had no hand in helping then keep your 2¢ out of it. Atleast i have the balls to not go under anonymous.

Huh hiding behinding anonymous again. But kinda looks like you have just done that same thing you accussed me of. hmmmmmm And what are we in second grade with the name calling.
oh by the way we did talk to the league of woman voters.

Hey I want a K-9 unit...and there are things I am willing to pay for willingly, but that isn't going to be one of them. I would like my basement remodeled too, not paying for that either.

I don't put much stock in things like debates. I haven't for as long as I can remember. They are uncomfortable even for people who know their topics inside and out. I truly do believe it's more important to know the candidates. I'm not trying to stump for Rivella or Westrope but I do think it's important to look what they have worked on in the community before considering them for a any seat.

maybe when peppa pig sells his house and moves out he can take willie the buffoon with him,the town would be better off

It's possible that crime has increased but I would assume it's regional and not exclusive to Morrisville. I'm not ready to turn into a police state type situation. It actually sounds like some the campaign arguments are racially motivated with I really don't care for at all.

Are there actual statistics on Morrisville's crime over the past couple of years? I keep wondering if it has actually increased or if it's the amount of media coverage and reporting that has increased, with the capitalizing on it all to try to get elected thrown in.

Yup second grade name calling. BRAVO. And if your calling me willie maybe you should look harder at your angry self. I do things for the comunity. What have you done lately. Well besides come up with clever names and say everybody is angry or hot headed

Anonymous said...

Ok, but what has Peps done for the community that he so desperately tried to leave for almost a year?

He quit the only community-based job he had; probably because the man cannot work with people.

At least Kitty and Dave have been around, trying to make the town better in their own ways...

Peps didn't even respect the process enough to get his paperwork in time to be on the ballot... Maybe because he knew he wouldn't have the support...?

Anonymous said...

This is entertaining. Keep up the good work everyone

Anonymous said...

Name calling is unecessary and un-productive. I respect those that attended the debate, as well as those that didn't. The organizers did a nice job, as well as the moderator. I t was better than expected. Next election maybe it can be done again???

Anonymous said...

Respectfully, I don't see the point of debates...
I'd rather meet with each candidate face-to-face and talk to them, instead of hearing each side give a "rehearsed" response to general questions.

Anonymous said...

Rehearsed responses to questions they didnt have before hand. WOW now the candidates have esp now. They both get my vote

Anonymous said...

Well, they're not supposed to have them beforehand... But I didn't hear anything about Peps having his house up for sale up until a couple of months ago ~ how could anyone vote for someone that is trying to LEAVE? He knows nothing about the history of our town - even the last 20 years or so.

But Peps is allowed to spread lies and nonsense fears and call people names on his page?

See ya Peps~ don't let the door hit you on your way out of the Ville!

Anonymous said...

Really I haven't seen him on hear calling anybody names. Just the ones who are against him calling names.

Anonymous said...

"keep do nothing like Rivella"

It's on Pepitone's fb page.

In a way, Pepitone has been name calling since he decided to run like (two months ago).

His targeted attacks on Rivella are really shameful considering he has never even met Rivella, not to mention Dave has worked for Morrisville for as long as I can remember while it has been Pepitone who has sat back and done NOTHING. Has no problem talking crap though.

I went on Dave's fb page last night to wish him well. Along with campaign lit that talks about things he has worked on, (while he is doing nothing for the community), I saw this:

"As Janet and I have been trying to bring our community together, others seem to continue to spread rumors, gossip and outright lies while trying to win the mayor race, with total disregard to the fact that they are actually dividing our community.

So many innuendos and outright lies about me have been circulated during this race and here are a few.

It has been said that I have only repaved streets in my own ward. Nolan Avenue is in the third ward. I live in the forth ward. What about the Bank Street paving in the first ward?

Because Democrats in Morrisville have supporters and have the ability to raise money, it is implied that it is improper when in fact it is public record because all laws are followed. All money raised does not go towards campaigning. What is not talked about are the local Morrisville donations that these funds also go toward such as the MSD Jefferson Award, Morrisville Little League, the Morrisville Fire Company, supporting Morrisville branch of the Teal Tea Foundation in support of ovarian cancer awareness, just to name a few.

To say that I voted for a budget that did not include a police car implies that I cut the police car out of the budget. In fact, it was the Chief of Police, Jack Jones, who did not want a police car one year, not any member of borough council. What is being conveniently left out are the police vehicles that have been purchased since I have been a councilperson, (from memory), 2011 Crown Vic, 2010 Crown Vic, 2011 Police van, 2008 Durango, 2009 police vehicle (that was lost due to flooding).

It has been continually publicly stated that I have never worked with the Morrisville Business Association, or been a member, or gone to their dinners. As a councilperson, none of this is required of me. Even so I have been a member and it's listed within the 2011 MBA guide. Also listed is a page dedicated to Morrisville's Arts and Events Committee that I helped make happen with the help of another MBA member. Both my wife and I have attended MBA dinners. To claim I don't use tax dollars wisely, it was my initiative to form a partnership with the MBA, EDC and borough council to cover the $10,000 cost of being a Landmark Towns member, with each organization paying 1/3 of the $10,000. So not only did I save over $6,000 of tax money with this one collaboration, it clearly shows I have worked with the MBA and the EDC.

It has been a repeated theme by some seeking votes that my being a responsible council president, has been manipulated into suggesting that I wish to do away with our police department. I have NEVER submitted any type of documentation, not one memo, not one motion that I want to outsource or disband the Morrisville Police Department, so STOP LYING and scaring the residents."

I am stil waiting for ONE positive thing from Pepitone... I don't even think he likes Morrisville - hence him putting his house on the market just a few short months ago...

He is dangerous because you can't run Morrisville like NYC ~ we are a small town. Stop and frisk has been ruled unconstitutional - Pepitone is just a door to more lawsuits.

DAVE ALL THE WAY!

not scared and voting for good change in MO Ville said...

document is crap says nothing and no being a NYPD officer for 20 years is not a bad thing but trying to scare people into thinking Morrisville is being swamped with crime is a crime in it self has it gone up some but it has everywhere but the out right lies about daves record and making things up has turned me off ex cop or not Pepitone is a lying little man
