Interesting. I thought Fitz's seat was safe. Towing the line to avoid the wrath of the Tea Party extremists can hurt your political career when the sensible middle wakes up. Who knew?

Anonymous said...

Fitz has pissed off the Tea Partiers and the Republicans and the Democrats and the independents. He's well done toast. He's going to be doing school board work again in 2015.

Hope he finds another District besides Morrisville to hang his empty suit while he gears up to run yet again. I'm sure he will.

Of course Pepitone wants a debate: he needs a way to get people to see who he is without doing any leg work.
He'll work the crowd up with talk of not letting criminals "take over" and it will turn into a screaming, out of control mess.

Regardless of how you feel about Westrope or Rivella, they have given their time to Morrisville- this Pepitone QUIT the only Morrisville "job" he ever had.

Poor Pep. He coulda been a contender.

Anonymous said...

My advise to Westrope and Rivella is to not buy into or reward Pepitone's bad bahavior by debating him.

Anonymous said...

I'm guessing Rivella's lit is so good in providing actual information that was contrary to the load Pepitone has been shoveling that he had to come up with this new way of getting uniformed people worked up.

I saw this on Dave Rivella's facebook page:

"Would you like a yard sign?
I deliver
Give me a holler and I'll drop one off.
Thank you
- Dave"

Why would Westrope and Rivella debate Pepitone when his own follows are saying he isn't even a candidate.

Anonymous said...

Because its MORRISVILLE

Anonymous said...

Dave, Kitty, do not debate Pepitone. He is looking for an audience, don't give him one.

Anonymous said...

Only the one losing the race challenges the front runner to a debate.

FACT: Pepitone admits he's losing. (Sorry, I couldn't resist putting it in Pepitone-speak)

I just saw this posted to Dave Rivella's campaign page on fb. Nice response Dave. You did the right thing.

"This week I was asked to participate in a debate of sorts with the Morrisville Republican endorsed candidate and another Republican who chose to not make himself a part of the 2013 primary election process, but is now seeking write in votes.

Below is my response to this request;

Thank you for reaching out to me with an invitation to attend. I hope you will relay this response in its entirety.
Over the past few months, I have heard a lot of negative, misinformation being given to the residents from another mayoral candidate in an effort to get elected. It is my belief that giving inaccurate information to the public in an attempt at winning support is disrespectful to the voters and does a disservice to the entire community. I will not be taking part in a mayoral debate at this time because I will play no part in promoting such negative behavior. Manipulating the public is dangerous for Morrisville, and serves to fracture our community instead of bring it together, which is the opposite of the work I have been doing for years to positively promote our little borough.
I do believe the residents should have information about my candidacy which is why I have been answering reporter’s questions, been interviewed on numerous occasions, and created the facebook page, “Friends of David Rivella” that contains my campaign information. My voting record as a councilman clear, is part of public record for all to see and speaks volumes to the citizens of our borough. My wife and I have been walking through Morrisville neighborhoods, talking with residents and handing out packets of my campaign information. We will continue to do this until Election Day. As most in Morrisville know, I have always been available to anyone who has questions, concerns or wishes to speak with me for any reason. Thank you for your support.
Respectfully
Dave Rivella"

See, the above post with the Rivella statement shows why I like Dave for mayor.

And yet, Dave Rivella, is giving out false information about the candidates. You just don't know who to believe these days.

"And yet, Dave Rivella, is giving out false information about the candidates."

I haven't heard any from him so far. I have heard a lot of negativity and accusations, but not from him. Get me?!

Someone posted Pepitone was Brian Jones on the Town Watch page - looking through his posts on the TW page, think they're on to something. Brian Jones wanted to debate (which only Pepitone will benefit from) and his writing style is exactly like Pepitone's "Restore" page...
So basically he created a fake page (with 5 friends that do not live in or near Morrisville, except for the InBalance page) to act like an advocate for himself... And it is clear that he is Mike Honcho (also a movie name) on here.
That is pathetic and a little disturbing.

Whether R or D, vote for your candidate that had the foresight to have their names placed on the ballot since the primary.

Anonymous said...

Irony: The "real" Brian Jones (of the Rolling Stones) was kicked out of the band he was instrumental (pun intended) in forming.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Pepitone will find out that he can't always get what he wants.

Illness closes school

Because one of the pupils had contracted diphtheria, the Morrisville schools were closed Monday to allow the health officials to fumigate the building.

I just read this on Pepitone's Restore Morrisville campaign page on facebook:

"A MUST READ FOR ALL MORRISVILLE PARENTS
As many of you know, at the last Borough Council meeting a resident named Corinne stood before Council and expressed her concern over the attempted child abductions in the Borough. As a mother of four she asked the members of Council what they were doing to protect our children. No one responded. Not one word from anyone including the councilman who wants your vote for mayor. Shortly after, I named Corinne my campaign manager.
Earlier today Corinne received a phone call from Borough Council President Nancy Sherlock. Ms. Sherlock put forth several excuses as to why she and the Council sat in silence that evening before stating "I hope this wasn't a political ruse to bring other issues to light."
Our children's safety-a political ruse.
After Corinne expressed how appalled and offended she was Ms Sherlock changed the subject to Johnson Controls and the Lighting Project.
How convenient.
Every parent should be offended by Ms Sherlocks statement and attempt to 'quiet' Corinne and others. We should not be surprised, however, since certain members of Council, led by the councilman who wants your vote for Mayor, have treated public safety with such disdain they would rather throw $200,000 of our money into an investigation rather than protect us, an investigation that has made us less safe than ever.
The bully and intimidation tactics no longer work. I'm not sure who put you up to making that phone call Ms Sherlock, but I can guess. They did you a disservice."

Is he seriously insinuating that Dave made Nancy call Corrine today?! Really? That sounds so stupid.

My opinion - WOW! This man is an ass. I cannot believe he would actually talk about "bully and intimidation tactics" since that is what his entire campaign is based on.
"Our children's safety-a political ruse." By his own writing, that isn't what she said. This is in fact a tactic he uses on a regular basis.

I doubted it at first but his attacks on Nancy keep making me think that Burger is involved.

Talking about council not speaking during public comment just shows how much he doesn't know about what is happening. Council doesn't speak during public comment, they aren't supposed to. It isn't a dialog session, its for comments from the public. Doesn't everyone know this?! Does Pepitone just not get that council can't answer any questions about the police dept because that's Rita's job.

I am so offended by this man's words on a regular basis. Why would anyone want him to be mayor when he is making it crystal clear he has no intention of working with anyone.

"Johnson Controls and the Lighting Project"

Kind of strange that he said it like this. Makes me think he knows anything about this stuff, which he should.

I'm not even going to comment on the rest of what he said. I don't think I need to, it wouldn't be good.

Pepitone is starting to sound like Hellmann with a badge. That's not a good combination.

RE:

A MUST READ FOR ALL MORRISVILLE PARENTS

I would say in this case, the public did deserve some type of response from someone... anyone.

And I would like to know how the sitting council members would allow the police issues to go on for so long without letting the public know about it or are they waiting until after the election to finally do something.

Anonymous said...

I don't agree with what was said above at all. It's my understanding that council gets police information from the mayor. Which would mean the mayor would have to be willing to give the information. In my opinion, why did the mayor would be a more appropriate question.

Anonymous said...

"I would say in this case, the public did deserve some type of response from someone... anyone." This sounds good but it is unrealistic and improper.

When the borough manager tried to talk to the police dept instead of the mayor, the mayor sued.

Anonymous said...

If the mayor isn't willing to work together, she can't be forced to. Questions about the police dept should be asked of the mayor, which is proper.

If the suggestion is that any council members should sit at a public meeting and answer questions for the mayor, I would have to strongly disagree with this.

Anonymous said...

I really don't care what's 'proper". If these people want our votes they need to speak up and answer some questions. No one is asking anyone to speak for the mayor.

If I were into conspiracy theories, I would suspect Rivella or his wife are posting a lot of the negative Pepitone crap and a lot of the positive Rivella statements on this blog.

Anonymous said...

Who do you suspect is posting a lot of the negative Rivella crap?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Brian Jones or Chris Nethery or Peps himself...?

Whichever personality you chose, please step up!

Anonymous said...

perhaps the late Brian Jones?

Anonymous said...

Peps showed he had no control at tonight's council meeting. I'm starting to think he's a plant FOR Rivella, because he is making him look better and better everyday.

Who put the anonymous anti-Rivella pro-Pepitone campaign material on my car windshield while I was in the Municipal Bldg parking lot for the boro council meeting? No paid for by or nothing, on muni property, is that kosher for passover?

Anonymous said...

Petty-tone looks worse as the days go by - I agree he shot himself in the foot at the council meeting. He kept asking questions and then not listening to the answers... Like a petulant teenager.

Anonymous said...

So last night Pepitone's smoking gun was that Rivella asks uestions...kind of sounds like doing the job he was elected to do.

I'm glad I finally got to hear Pepitone speak last night. It confirmed what I already knew.

Yell questions at council then yell over the answers to your questions.

I had a feeling it would be like this.

Nice storm off by Pepitone.

I want a yes or no! Do you know that you killed your own campaign.

Anonymous said...

I've already had a pot of coffee, think I could type the word "question"?! Sorry about that bloggers.

Anonymous said...

I got it too. I'm guessing he didn't put his name on it because he knew it shouldn't be handed out at borough hall.

Way to go Mr. Law and Order...when it's convenient.

I read it, kind of, when I got home. I said kind of because I really skimmed it as it was hard to read for two reasons. One being that I saw things in it that I knew to be untrue and two being it looked and read like SOC lit so there was no point in giving it any more of my time.

Anonymous said...

Do some people really think that saying "nobody told me" and "I don't know". Are better than getting information?

I guess that is what Pepitone will do, because he likes to yell questions, talk over the answers, and accuse those who do their homework of doing something wrong.
Last night Pepitone showed what he would be as mayor - rude, dumb and angry.
Stop the madness! How can anyone vote for more of the angry bunch???
I want progress!

Anonymous said...

Every "smoking gun" brought up last nite by Pep and his supporters and the obstructionist wing of council is turning out to be a phony red herring. I'm not surprised in the least. This is Standard Operating Procedure for the Burger/Hellmann/SOC Axis. Like the birther movement against Obama, no contrary info will ever sway them from their zealous self-righteousness.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Pep, right now you're an unimpressive, not-ready-for-prime-time, flash in the pan.

Stay in the game, put the KoolAid down, and get aome more insight into what's really going on. It's not always what's happening on the surface.

Anonymous said...

What was in the yellow envelope Rita gave to Pepitone? Just seeing that was enough for me to decide not to vote for him.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't see that from watching it on the TV. Yes, I agree, that doesn't look good, not that I was voting for him anyway.
