MORRISVILLE — If you see military personnel in Morrisville on Thursday morning, don't worry. They are just there to clean up the town's riverfront preserve.
Members of the Navy, Marine and Air Force from the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey will put their military muscles to work as they help clear more than 1,000 feet of trail, making the riverfront more accessible.
Click here to find out more!
The trail blazing will be done without vehicles or heavy equipment, to avoid damage to the site which is undergoing restoration.
The cleanup will start at 8 a.m.

Students at Bucks County Technical High School in Fairless Hills took home nine gold medals, nine silver medals, and 10 bronze medals in the recent SkillsUSA state competition.

SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization that serves teachers and students involved in trade, technical, and service skills occupations, announced results from its annual competitions held in Hershey from Apr. 18-20.

Students from Bucks County Technical High School, Middle Bucks Institute of Technology in Jamison, and Upper Bucks County Technical School in Bedminster competed in the contests. Results from Middle Bucks and Upper Bucks Technical weren’t available.

Here are the names of the students from Bucks County Technical High School who won awards:

Gold medals: David Senko (electrical construction wiring); David Rivella (industrial motor control); Christopher Panzitta, James Croke, Sam Bailey (occupational health and safety, single); Tyler Edgerton, Zachary Weed, Brandon Minguez (occupational health and safety, multiple); and Stephen Wajda (power equipment technology).

Silver medals: John Goodwin (carpentry); Rebecca Wilson, Meylin Vasquez, Brianna Craytor (community service); Dillion Coffey, Kylie Corbett, Macy Garrison, Samantha Wilson (health knowledge bowl); and Jake Carpenter (motorcycle service technology)

Bronze medals: Luis Zuniga, Luke Zalvino (audio production); Nick Timms, Chelsea Taylor, Jessica Burgholtz (career pathways showcase: industrial and engineering technology); Ryan Brookes (firefighting); Jessica Bonilla (health occupations portfolio); Collin Leaper (nurse assisting); Justin Fusco (related technical math); and Vincent Taurino (welding).

From June 23-27, students with gold medals will compete in the national competition, known as the “Super Bowl” of technical education in the United States in Kansas City.

None of the technical schools in Bucks has a sports program. SkillsUSA adviser Craig Meyers, a teacher at the Bucks County Technical High School, said that for students, competing in Skills- USA is like “our football team.”
