Video of the 6/27 meeting is on the district website now. The audio is much better, so whatever was done helped a lot.

thank you Mr miller for helping with audio apparently it takes a newbie to get anything done. speaking of that why am I only seeing the newbies asking questions before they vote? why are the others just voting without seeming to have info? is this the hellman spell still going through their veins now carried out by mihok? dont they care about what they are voting for or are they getting info behind the scenes that from what I see the others dont seem to have . watch the videso and those knuckleheads just sit there waiting to say yes or no and are half asleep when they vote

Kudos to the MM members for asking questions and delving into the issues. It is refreshing to see you "attempting" to get pertinent info and answers to your very valid questions before you vote. Please continue to push forward on this front and do not back down. This is the only way to bring about change. I applaud you for a job well done this far. What a stark contrast to the SOC members and their obvious lack of interest. (as well as sometimes their lack of "awakeness")I'm so pleased to know that I supported the right candidates, although I really never had any doubt. Thank you to MM for all of your hard work and efforts thus far.

WHy just Mihok? It should be to all the bad apples of SOC.

Anonymous said...

The SOC people don't ask questions because they already met and got their orders on how to vote. Just cooperate and let them do their thing.

They put too much trust in the Superintendent and Admin. They of all people should know better. There are lots of moving parts, lots of info (and lack of info) and options flying around, and people aren't perfect. Far from it. There is plenty of room for questions and critique when things don't add up on ring true. Keep up the good work. Keep your eyes and ears open. Make sure things are as they were described or promised.

No doubt there was a vast conspiracy behind that contractor putting it there.

Repairs to "Trenton Makes" bridge resume Monday

Posted: Sunday, July 1, 2012 12:00 am | Updated: 6:51 am, Sun Jul 1, 2012.

By Joan Hellyer Staff Writer | 0 comments

MORRISVILLE — Crews will start to finish making repairs and improvements Monday on the piers that support the "Trenton Makes" bridge over the Delaware River, a bridge commission spokesman said.

The work is part of the two-phase Substructure Repair and Scour Remediation Project launched by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission in 2010. The project is designed to fix the piers and abutments that support 15 of the commission's 20 river crossings.

The commission originally intended to have the work completed by Feb. 29, but weather-related delays and protracted high water conditions during 2011 disrupted those plans, spokesman Joe Donnelly said.

The project's completion was further delayed because of environmental restrictions.

No work was allowed near the "Trenton Makes" bridge that connects Morrisville to Trenton and the I-78 bridge near Easton between March 1 and Sunday because it was the mating/breeding season for red-bellied turtles that live along the river's shorelines.

Once the project gets under way on the "Trenton Makes" bridge there might be short traffic stoppages and pedestrians might be impacted by periodic shutdowns of the walkway on the bridge's upstream side, Donnelly said.

Traffic is not expected to be disrupted by the work on the I-78 bridge, he said.

The work on both spans is expected to be completed by August, the spokesman said.

How many important meetings are left before my 3 children's teachers don't have contracts? I may not have time to come to meetings as a single mom with 3 kids in school, I just got a new apartment and bc I now have a job I can't stay home with my kids. I heard this place stays on track to control taxes and my daycare?

Fattah's son hit with tax lien on business

By Mark Fazlollah

Inquirer Staff Writer

Philadelphia has slapped Chaka "Chip" Fattah Jr. with a $31,434 lien for unpaid business-privilege taxes, the latest troubles for the congressman's son since the FBI's raid on his office in February.

Revenue Commissioner Keith Richardson said the lien, filed June 14, could enable the city to freeze the younger Fattah's bank accounts or block the sale of any real estate he owns until he pays.

The filing says Fattah owes taxes, penalties, and interest for failing to pay the 6.45 percent business-privilege levy in 2010 and 2011. He also owes $137 for a separate city tax.

Ronald Sarachan, a lawyer representing Fattah, said he had no comment about the city action.

The lien did not state the name of business Fattah operated, but lists the address of his apartment at the Ritz-Carlton Residences. Fattah lists the apartment address for his company, 259 Strategies LLC.

In March, United Bank of Philadelphia filed suit against Fattah and 259 Strategies, saying it was owed $70,591 for an unpaid loan.

Bank records show that loan was secured by a $450,000 consulting contract given to 259 Strategies by DELAWARE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, a company that runs alternative-education programs in Philadelphia and provided Fattah with an office.

Fattah abruptly left Delaware Valley after FBI agents delivered a subpoena for records from the office on Feb. 29, carting off boxes of documents.

Delaware Valley's president, David T. Shulick, has said the agents told him their investigation was focused only on Fattah - not the school.

Richardson said his office's decision to file the lien predated the FBI raid. From start to finish, the research and preparation for filing of liens can take several months, he said.

Rep. Fattah, the top Democrat on the House appropriations subcommittee, backed Delaware Valley's unsuccessful attempt to secure $375,000 in federal funds for environmentally friendly student buses.

The congressman, who represented Philadelphia since 1995, said the school received no special treatment. Its request and 29 others that his staff received were forwarded to the congressional committee considering the funding, he said in a statement. No funding was granted for the Delaware Valley request.

The FBI's investigation of Fattah Jr. is a spinoff from last year's conviction of Philadelphia lawyer Mikel Jones, a former aide to U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D., Fla.).

Documents from the criminal case show that Jones told FBI agents that he had hired 259 Strategies and another company run by Fattah - American Royalty, a concierge-type service.

An FBI memo on the interview said agents questioned Jones about $90,000 he paid to Fattah's firms. But it said Jones, who is awaiting sentencing, could not give specifics on the work Fattah did.

"Was it a good investment, strictly speaking? No," the memo quoted Jones as saying. "But I was desperate and he had access." It gave no details on the supposed access.

In an interview with The Inquirer last year, Fattah said his work for Jones had nothing to do with providing access to his father or anyone else.

I'm a senior on a fixed income from Social Security and my late husband's Vulcanized Rubber pension who was nearly forced to sell my house for food and medicine. My 4 children are all grown so I should be done paying for anyone's children. I can't make the meetings bc I'm too frail. I am tech savvy, have high speed internet, and frequently check in on this obscure blog. I can vouch for you that this place stays on track, or course, if you will, to control taxes and my healthcare and nutritional needs. Bless you William Hellmann, C.P.A., and that charming young lady supporter of yours with the permanent wave who continues to speak out at meetings and stands up for the real Morrisville taxpayer.

I never thought I'd be writing in to a forum such as this. I thought this was the kind of thing that happens to other people, not me. That is, until I walked into that school board meeting and saw the most beautiful, buxom ...

I only read this blog for the pictures.

To anonymous senior above:

"My 4 children are all grown so I should be done paying for anyone's children."
Who do you think paid for your kids to go to school? ALL of the taxpayers, including the senior citizens, not just you!

Get a clue! Anyone who expects school taxes to never rise is living in a bubble!

The school boards main responsibility should be toward the students and their education, not the taxpayers.

"The school boards main responsibility should be toward the students and their education, not the taxpayers."

While I agree with the sentiment, this is an incomplete perspective. The SB, like any other local government body, has responsibility to the entire community.

What type of community would result from a run down, underfunded, poorly maintained, understaffed, under programmed school where the priority is millage and not student opportunity?

Of course.

Bring it to my personal business office.

You get it?

You understand?
