Thank you Mr. Banter! Morrisville Matters appreciates your providing a voice to all community members and not deciding who, what, where and when can be posted if it doesn't adhere to one side of the political forecast. We appreciate your being open and willing to listen to all sides of the road!

You're welcome! It would be nice to hear equally from "both sides". Past history shows that's not likely, but hey, we can dream.

It would be nice if everything was positive, but constructive criticism has its place. Be factual - if you've got an opinion, back it up. No personal attacks, please. Let's be adults about this. This ain't High School - or is it?

It would be nice if everybody put their names, ranks, and serial #'s on each posting too. But anonymity will be respected.

I'll give a thumbs up to John DeWilde and Jack Buckman for voting NO on the asst. softball coach switcheroo.

All Stay on Course candidates voted YES for the switcheroo.

I hope anyone who hitches their wagon to these folks realizes that the next switcheroo could be on them.

It's too bad the other blog crapped out. I'm glad somebody is keeping a blog going. People need a voice!

I understand and respect the feelings of the Morrisville's Future BLOG administrator(s). He/she/they have been administering the blog for quite some time and deserve to take it down the path they choose.
I am however very grateful for the start of this Bulldog Banter blog as it gives the readership of the Morrisville Future blog the option to continue to read and express themselves as they had been doing on that other blog.
Thank you very much for this new blog.

Can someone explaing the comment regarding the backroom dealings with the coaches. I am not familiar with this issue.

I'll take a shot at the coach thing.

Anybody, please correct me if I'm wrong or if I mischaracterized something.

A "selection process" of some sort was set up to interview and identify a new Asst. softball coach. To "vette" the candidates, if you will.

A single person was selected from this process. Let's call them "Person A".

Then, at the March 23, 2011 school board meeting, "Person B" was added to the mix as an option.

Then, lo and behold, Person B received the most votes and became the new Asst. softball coach.

I offered a thumbs up to John DeWilde and Jack Buckman for voting NO to Person B. I don't know Person A or Person B, but what I'd like to think motivated John DeWilde and Jack Buckman to vote NO to Person B was some semblance of respect for "the selection process".

In other words, why have "a selection process" if board members are just going to stick somebody else in who they favor (for whatever reason) at the last minute?

You are correct in regards to the softball incident that happened. A little more information for the public to know. Candidate A coaches travel ball. Candidate B, umpired for little league baseball. Just thought the public should know a little more as to why the decision upset many people. Now "B" is coaching middle school baseball and really has no clue what he is doing.

Jon said...

Thanks for the extra insight.

Let me reiterate:

I hope anyone who hitches their wagon to these folks realizes that the next switcheroo could be on them.

And there's little or nothing you can do about it after it happens.

In checking out the "stay on course" website, I saw that the home of Sharon Hughes is listed as where to send donations. (Although the website does not list anyone as the treasurer as it should.) Not someone I would want handling my donations, not that I would donate to the stay on course group. Just thought this was an interesting observation & thought I would share.

Presby Towers love our Pens! Its a shame the residents do not have access to information on all candidates running so they can make an informed decision and not one made on scare tactics! If anyone has family members living there please let me know so we can get them information. Also, Morrisville Matters will provide rides to the voting locations on 5/17/11 if anyone needs one. Please email us at morrisvillematters@yahoo.com if you would like to volunteer to transport or need a ride.

Anybody who "hitches their wagaon" to the stay on course people are fools. They are on a mission to cut what ever they can and anything that is not mandated by the state. you hear it from all the time "Every thing is on the table" give them four more years and there will be no sports no music no arts no nothing just the bare bones.
smarten up people their holding out for nothing less then a merger which is fine just don't short change the students of today while you wait. But we know all too well they don't give a crap about todays kids.
shame on anyone who thinks they do or that they can work with them to save anything !!!!!!!!!

True so true above poster. that course is off track more than you know, they will be replaced for sure. start packing SOC'ers and those who are hitchen a ride

Bravo to the last two posters! Let's also not forget that "you are judged by the company you keep" and that "guilt by association" although a very old expression, is still quite a timely phrase!

Our Opponents say they are promoting Excellence in Education...Hmm, Test scores down overall, programs on the chopping block, Morrisville dropped 20 rankings in the State school district list since 2010...Is that the excellence you want for your child? come to Daceys tomorrow 7-9pm and we will go over it with you and give you the real information so you are informed to make your vote

morrisvillematters said...
