I'm sorry I missed the PABS carwash. I intended to go, but I had a head cold, combined with a stomach bug, combined with trying get ready for hosting a baby shower at our house.

All excuses aside, I hereby pledge to pay PABS for the 2 cars I was going to have washed.

MORRISVILLE - Police are looking for witnesses to a Friday evening motorcycle crash that seriously injured the rider of a Harley Davidson when it collided with a car.
The crash occurred about 7:03 p.m. on S. Delmorr Avenue near Dairy Queen, when the motorcycle collided with a Ford Taurus, police said. The Taurus was exiting Smokin' Joes Tobacco Shop and the Harley was traveling south on Delmorr when the crash occurred.

Anyone who may have seen the crash is asked to call Morrisville Police Officer Bill Smith at 215-295-8112.
Smith said the motorcyclist is still alive because he was wearing a helmet - and because of the speed with which Morrisville's fire company and ambulance squad responded.
David Bittner, 33, of Ewing, N.J., was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center where he is being treated for skull fractures and bleeding on his brain, Smith said.
The driver of the Ford, whose name was not released, was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.

Before I forget, after last Wed.'s Board meeting, Bill Ferrara told me that the fencing around the Grandview oval would be installed this week. He said it had been delayed by the weather.

All Years MHS Reunion Organizers said...

Thank you to all who attended the All Years MHS Reunion on Saturday 10/1. It was a huge success, over 170 people from class years 1943 up to the 90's helped us raise money for the Student Loan Fun. They enjoyed an afternoon of music from DJ Leggo, Door prizes, Free Desserts, Food from the Rotary and Franks Fun Foods and shopped with the many vendors set up around the field. Most Importantly they spent time with friends some have not seen in 30+ Years. We especially enjoyed the picture taking of all class years and by decade. Pencil in the first Saturday in October 2012 as the 2nd Annual All years MHS Reunion. Thank you Wanda Kartal, Suzanne Albanese and Sharon Yeager MHS Alumni and Event organizers.

Hey, could this be the Steve Needles who used to be Morrisville Boro Solicitor? I always thought of him as a Camaro guy.

Route 332 road paint causes problems
By Chris English
Staff Writer Calkins Media, Inc.

This kind of paint job Steve Needles could have done without.

The Newtown resident was driving to work along state Route 332 Tuesday morning in his new $26,000 Ford Mustang.

Just after crossing a bridge over the Neshaminy Creek and entering Northampton, Needles noticed a colored mist being thrown out by a bus in front of him. It had recently rained, he said.

“It was throwing this cloudy colored moisture onto my car,” Needles said. “I soon realized it was coming from lines that had just been painted on the road, both the yellow center line and the white line on the side of the road. I could see the paint smeared everywhere. Every time the bus went over, it would throw paint onto my car.”

Needles soon discovered that one side of his vehicle was covered with a yellow water-paint mix and the other side with a white mix.

After several runs through a car wash and scrubbing by hand, most of the paint is gone, but some still remains on the 2012 Mustang that Needles said he bought only 10 days ago.

“I think it will take a thorough detailing job to get the rest out, and I’m guessing that will cost anywhere from $150 to $175,” he said. “I think PennDOT should pay for that. I’ve driven through many places where they’ve painted lines on the road before and never had this problem. I thought they used a kind of paint that dried immediately and wouldn’t be affected by the weather elements.”

Needles said many other motorists traveling along that stretch of Route 332 Tuesday morning probably have the same problem with their vehicles.

PennDOT spokesman Gene Blaum and traffic control specialist Rob Sforza said a paint crew from the department did paint lines on Route 332 between about 10 p.m. Monday and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Needles said he was traveling through the area about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Blaum said PennDOT is required to use a water-based paint for environmental reasons but that it usually dries in a maximum of about six minutes. He and Sforza said they would investigate the situation.

“After three hours the paint shouldn’t be running like what he described,” said Sforza. “I can’t imagine that volume of paint being sprayed up, but we’ll look into it.”

A Northampton Township employee said the township had gotten at least 10 calls about the paint problem and are referring all inquiries to PennDOT.

Blaum said anyone who wants to report a problem caused by the road painting can call PennDOT at 610-205-6558 or visit www.penndotpaint6.com. A form can be downloaded from that website for people to file a claim for possible paint damage to their vehicles, he said.
