Venting

The American Conservative Union (circa 1964), which rates members of Congress on how they vote on conservative issues, gave Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick a 64 rating, meaning that he is independent -- but conservative where it counts.
Pat Wandling, Middletown

Here's my vent:  the people that complain the most about pay-to-play politics seem to be the most hypocritical and prolific practitioners of it.

Alina Marone is a big disappointment. When is she moving??Why did she run if she was going to move so soon?

Meh.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Meh" is an interjection, often used as an expression of indifference or boredom.

she should not be voting on topics for future when she is cutting her future short in morrisville

So much for staying and fighting, she did neither.

So four SOCs and four MMs will square off to choose a successor, determining the balance of all future 5-4 votes. Which side will cave first?

When Morrisville is in trouble, there's only one person we can turn to. Someone with the ideas, the know-how, the guts, and the time.

Say it loud! Say it proud!

Perhaps the right thing for her to have done (when I typed that I chuckled and not in a good way) would have been to step down before the 2012 primary election to allow her seat to be filled by the voters with someone who would stick around long enough to do the job.

I don't know the school code on this sort of thing. If she stepped down before the general election, I imagine her seat could still be filled through the election process.

However, my take on it is that she likes the attention. I tend to believe she would not do the right thing here and step down before an election knowing that her final way of helping those she has chosen to side with would be to wait so that whomever ends up being appointed will have more time before the next election.

Further I believe she is smart enough to know that vacating her seat, no matter when it is, will creat a conflict of 4 to 4 voting and she may like the idea of folks fighting over her seat just for the attention it brings. (as if they would be fighting over her)

This is all just my thinking out loud. The first time I met her I had the feeling she was trouble for the town. I could see her coming and have no good word here.

LOL I read something about Alina M. and typed the post above without even saying I was talking about Alina. I must need a Friday nap. Sorry about that.

Marlys should hear the things Marone says about her behind her back while voting to protect her.

Dewilde is just enough of a duplicitous snake that I think he just might vote for her.
