2011 Back to SchoolCalling all parents: It's time to go 'Back to School'

Parents throughout Lower Bucks County are being invited to visit their children's schools over the next several weeks to learn what the kids will be studying this school year.
The visits, generally called Back-to-School Nights, help open the lines of communication between parents and teachers, Hillcrest Elementary School Principal Nakia Jones-Tate said in a letter to parents at the Council Rock school in Northampton.
"Parents are vital to their children's education," Jones-Tate wrote. "You serve as their biggest advocates and role models."
During Back-to-School Nights, teachers give parents a look at the class curriculum and daily routines and procedures, she said.
The parent information sessions began last week in a couple of Council Rock schools.
