oh wow imagine that the new grandview driveway did not alleviate or help with traffic along grandview...car after car stopped in the middle of the street with no direction and no instruction on pulling through the driveway for a pickup. $143,000 well spent
does the board think that a fence is going to make children, cross over the driveway and walk down the sidewalk. lol, any parent knows kids are not going to do that, their going to take the easy/quick way to the door DOWN THE DRIVEWAY BETWEEN THE CARS
PARENTS VIEW OF THE WORLD IS MISSING FROM THE BOARD
Come off it. The board knows what makes kids tick. They were kids once too [unless they were created in laboratories, I have no proof either way], even if they collectively have no kids in the schools. Parent's views or anyone else's views are irrelevant when you're always right.
I hope we all get more than 4 more years. Every day is a gift from the Creator and there are no guarantees of tomorrow for anyone. As a dyed-in-the-wool Kitchen Table Patriot, I firmly believes in a term limit of 1. Hence, I will not vote to return any incumbents to office. Governments, like underwear or diapers, must be changed frequently lest they get super smelly. It's not personal, it's just business.
The school and DVHS has not yet fixed the bus situation transporting our kids to tech. Was told today a van will be available to take the extra kids to tech until Paul DeAngelo can secure a 72 seater bus. This is how the board treats our kids and cares about safety of the children. Provides non compliant transportation without proper safety items on board (fire ext missing from bus), driver gets lost coming home several times now, picks up late in morning and afternoon. Four more years??? We cant afford 4 more years from the law suits that are going to be hitting our district when another kids gets hurt.
Get this in the Courier Times. Get it out there that the board is not keeping the kids safe. It is a safety issue. The kids should refuse to ride the bus and when tech asks why they are late or why they didn't make it to school, they need to tell them that Morrisville is not providing them with safe transporation and they don't want to ride a bus where they are not safe. All parents of tech school kids need to demand that that their children be safe.
Bring it up at the super meeting on sept 14, its an open forum where all questions and concerns are 100% addressed to the satisfaction of the super and the board
Subcontractd Van from DVHS showed up at bus stop today, took whatever kids it could fit and left rest behind. Bus finally showed up at 6:50am (20 minutes late again), Kids/parents were given no contact or # to call with bus issues related to new provider. New provider says they are working on securing a 78 passenger bus to accommodate our tech kids but that wont happen till next week. New provider did not know the bus regs (this is their first time procuring and busing outside their school) Provider says they addressed the safety issues on the bus (missing fire ext, missing first aid kit, etc) and gave driver better route to get kids back and forth so he does not get lost again on Day 5 and end up in Trenton. Parents, the Superintendent meeting is 9/14 7pm in LGI room, Board agenda meeting is 9/21 7:30pm and Regular business meeting is 9/28 7:30pm. Address your concerns and issues. They put the safety of your kids into the hands of others to save a few bucks without making sure they had experience, knew the regs, had the right equipment etc.
thanks anonymous. since one of my boys is in tech, its been the topic I have dealt with for 2 years. Its very frustrating to have it come up again and on various levels. I learned to go to the source for info or for clarification since most of what we hear is not the full story or we do not hear at all. If I can help keep other parents updated then it works for all of us. Thanks again
Fencing? What fencing is done? Wheres the basketball court? Why was Grandview so flooded with cars in the middle of the road if the traffic was so well directed and informed? Safety of the kids, hmmm
Due to the rain, today the canal water is being pumped into the river on Delmorr Ave (the part that's near Trenton Ave). Just wanted to let everyone know that the road is blocked off there so if anyone needs to get around in that area, another road will need to be used.
"Everyone will appreciate upgrades that included a reconfiguring of traffic patterns designed to alleviate problems when the children arrive or leave school and fencing. The improvements to the parking and access areas were the highest priority, indeed, necessary to ensure the safety of the children."
They really shouldn't ascribe feelings to everyone in District newsletters. It is simply not possible that the District would know how everyone will feel.
Right now, there is no fencing, sword sport or otherwise. I think a fence was mentioned at the last board agenda and regular business meetings, but that's about it. So I agree with the above poster that it's jumping the gun to mention it in a newsletter as though it's a done deal.
Saying that the improvements were indeed necessary to ensure the safety of the children indicates that the pre-improvement condition, which existed for many years, did NOT ensure the safety of the children. I'm not sure how prudent it is to put such an admission in writing.
On a positive news side of our wonderful district, if mother nature cooperates, the MHS Varsity Soccer Team will finally open up their schedule tomorrow at 3:45pm at Robert Morris Stadium. They have been rained out for Tuesday night's home opener as well as today's road match. The 2010 MHS Varsity Soccer team won the first soccer championship in school district history. In celebrating good things about our district, let's put peeps in the seats this year to root on the defending league champions.

I imagined that. Not difficult to imagine no improvement with no direction or instruction. This was Day 1, it will get better right?
What about the fence on the island with the flag pole? Is that going to happen? I suppose only the board can really answer that.

If there's a law suit we will have triple taxes!!!!
Who on the School Board or in the Administration is a good strong advocate for the students and parents?
I am not sensing any.
the paper was notified of the issues to look into it as a followup to the intial story that unfolded last november.
Quick PW, call Guy Petrozillo of the 4th Estate, squelch that story.

Wanda thank you so much for the updates and pursuing this.
Why you're out in front on this and not the people supposedly in charge is another sad, disheartening story.

There is a Sept 2011 newsletter and a piece about Improvements @ Grandview on the district website that "everyone will appreciate".

Thanks for the head's up! I saw that when I was going over the Calhoun St. Bridge this morning. I hope no residences are flooded down there.

Thanks for the good news. I hope the field isn't too soggy. Below is the link

What was the score of the soccer game?
Sorry, but I couldn't make it. Working.
Friends Select 3
Morrisville 0
Soggy, but a well played game. Bulldogs looked good, despite the score.
