Now that the Winterfest Parade has been approved – here are the details
The parade will take place on December 3rd. We will begin lining up at 10:00 a.m. on Ohio Avenue at Post Road (Make a right onto Hill or Dieter Avenue and then a left onto Ohio going toward Post Road) and the parade will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. (Parking will be available in the church parking lot). We anticipate that the parade will last approximately 1 hour.
Someone will be there directing the line up, the first in line will be the police officer, then the fire truck, after that we have to see who shows up.
The parade route is as follows: start on Post Road left onto S. Pennsylvania Avenue; right onto Delaware Avenue; left onto Washington; left onto E. Bridge; right onto N. Pennsylvania; left onto Hillcrest Avenue; right onto N. Lafayette; left onto Palmer ending at the Morrisville Intermediate/High School.
This is truly a community event. Any resident, club or group from Morrisville can be in the parade: Scouts, Vets, youth groups, clubs, bands and churches are encouraged to participate. The only exclusion will be any person running for public office.
Remember that this is a parade to celebrate the upcoming winter holidays when decorating your float or the vehicle you choose to ride in. Please feel free to let your inner child loose and be a little crazy!
Can’t wait to see everyone there!

The MHS Marching Band, Color Guard and Cheerleaders will be there. The band and color guard will be sporting Santa hats! Come one everybody! Join in, a parade is always fun. Let's welcome the holiday season to Morrisville!
Opps....Above comment from me...Donna
What is happening with "Summerseat Remembers" this year?
Anyone looking to donate for the parade. Since the money for the police has already been collected, you could donate candy to throw. I was just able to pick up for big bags of Halloween candy marked down at Acme.
Thanks.
(this was contingent on the approval of Chief Jones)
I'm just updating, please don't shoot the messenger.
BELOW IS AN UPDATE FROM CHIEF JONES:
In a letter to council Chief Jones says that he feels the best route would be to cross over Bridge St at Washington to Union. Union to N. Penna Ave.
Bridge to Penna Ave. is a busy intersection and at that time of day on Saturday, traffic gets heavy plus the amount of people etc who are going to participate is unknown.
The Chief says that the church parking lot will not be available because the church is having a function on Dec 3 but that the Senior Citizens have offered their lot to form the parade. He says the parade could leave that lot, go to Delaware Ave., then to Washington so that S. Penna Ave. isn't blocked.
That is a horrible route.....A parade is suppose to go through the main streets of the town for all to see. I thought the money was collected so that the police could be at certain corners to stop the traffic. How can you not go down Penna Ave and Bridge St? Crazy if you ask me.
My suggestion is to relax, everything will work out and the Winterfest activites will end having been something positive for the community. The same people who have watched the parade in the past will come out to watch it now. Some will stay home and some new people will check it out.
Its no biggy that people might have to travel to watch it. If you aren't directly in that area of Morrisville, like me, you have been traveling to see the parade in the past and you will travel to see it this year. Its not like its any great distance and hopefully it will be a beautiful day for everyone to enjoy themselves.
Thank you to the Senior center for offering a solution!
Just seems to me that ward 1, the Manor is getting the bad end of the deal again. All those people who come out along S Penna Ave to watch the parade go by will be disapointed. Why can the parade line up on Ohio Ave and come out Post to Penna Ave like it always does?
for those of you complaining about the parade you could put that energy into helping to organize it next year or donate candy to be tossed out this year or decorate your car and join in on the parade route so you too can bring excitement and joy to the kids of the community. The people do the best that they can do. Happy Thanksgiving
I love a parade!
I have eight large bags of candy to donate to the parade.
Hoping the kids will enjoy!
I will drop them off at Robin and Bill's house.
Hope to see many of you out along the parade route as we march by.
Mmmmmmmmm.... pannnncaaaakkkkkees...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
